About
Opened in 1929, Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana is Orange County's oldest public golf course. It is a challenging layout that has garnered a quite a following over the years. The course features wide fairways and large greens that offer ample room. There aren’t any water hazards a few strategically placed sand traps come into play and there are also mature trees lining the fairways. Golfers will get to practice a variety of different shots on this course. It is player-friendly enough for high-handicappers but there are still some challenges for low handicappers. The excellent condition of the greens and fairways are inviting no matter what your skill level. In addition to the golf course, Willowick also offers a grass driving range and three practice putting greens.

Good greens
The course could use some tlc in the fairways but the greens were perfect and for me that's the most important.
Gopher Problem
Yes, gopher (not golfer) problem. We paid $55 to play with a cart and the fairways were so bad we could barely drive them! Not going back anytime soon!
Good course for a practice round or to work on new clubs.
Good practice course but not a good course to entertain friends or clients.

I really enjoy playing here. Fairways are a little rough but the greens are in great shape. One of my favorite local courses to play
Willowick Gold Course
Some of the fairways were in rough shape. Looks as though they might have a gopher issue. The greens were pristine though. Very good condition. I do enjoy playing there and will definitely play there again soon.
Needs better turf management
I’ve played this course several times as it is a good price, especially when I’m treating my boys to a round. I don’t expect much for the price, but the condition of fairways, tee boxes, fencing and driving range leave much to be desired. Especially when compared to nearby low price options. I hope they get on course and improve soon.
Enjoyable
The round was ok, you can tell they are at the starting point of renovations, but they have a ways to go
Fairways horribly maintained
The fairways were horribly maintained! It was impossible to get proper footing. There were holes everywhere, hard dirt patches, too much dry grass, etc. This was our first time at the course and we will definitely not return
Worse course in Orange County
This course has to be the absolute worse course in all of Orange County! This course has junkyard carts, has zero smooth pathways to drive on. The fairways look like a gopher battlefield with tunnels and mounds everywhere. Hundreds of them. I think the best thing about this course is the greens, and I give that a 2 star rating. I wouldn’t come back to this course even if they paid me to play here.
Tee box and fairway
Worst tee box and fairway conditions on any golf course I have ever played in my 57 years of playing golf.
They were in terrible shape and looked awful.
Greens were in good shape surprisingly
Will never play again
The guy who is always running the show
It doesn't matter how good the course is the guy who is always in the pro shop is running the place into the ground. He is lazy and has no business knowledge. We had 2 groups of two and the guy asked us to pay with 1 card for 4 people and we said no. Then he begged us to do that. We again said no each person will be paying for themselves. And he said well that will take 15 minutes then. This makes no sense and he is just a lazy crooked guy.
