About
Opened in 1929, Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana is Orange County's oldest public golf course. It is a challenging layout that has garnered a quite a following over the years. The course features wide fairways and large greens that offer ample room. There aren’t any water hazards a few strategically placed sand traps come into play and there are also mature trees lining the fairways. Golfers will get to practice a variety of different shots on this course. It is player-friendly enough for high-handicappers but there are still some challenges for low handicappers. The excellent condition of the greens and fairways are inviting no matter what your skill level. In addition to the golf course, Willowick also offers a grass driving range and three practice putting greens.

Perfect day to play
The pace was remarkable. Not once did we have to wait. Thank you for that. Doesn't come often, but its notable when it does.
Nice course
The condition of the course wasn't as bad as I thought, but the ground was very bumpy. The pace of play was good and the staff was courteous and friendly. All in all, it was great experience playing here, and I plan to return to this course in the near future.
Rough shape and a bit dangerous
Very friendly at the pro shop The main issues with the course are the terrible condition of the grass and the risk of getting hit by an errant shot. It's so bad that the actual tees are very bumpy and uneven let alone the fairways - patchy, bumps of dirt clods etc litter the fairways. The course layout (like tees right behind greens and narrow fairways next to each other) is a recipe for getting hit - almost did a couple of times and maybe half the time the golfers yelled fore. Won't play there again.
You get what you pay
Entire course could use a lot of TLC, but then again with how expensive golf is nowadays you get what you pay.

Fairways a little rough but nice course and they are about to airrate the greens , so check ahead

Course was not too busy, generous fairways but watch out for potholes and bumps and gopher holes.
Greens were outstanding. Would recommend for value conscious golfers.
Willowick
I used to play twilight here after work some twenty years ago. I believe the course is now in much better condition while maintaining the original characteristics of the course. The starter (Brian) was very friendly and made feel at home. I would love to come back to play over and over again.
