About
Opened in 1929, Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana is Orange County's oldest public golf course. It is a challenging layout that has garnered a quite a following over the years. The course features wide fairways and large greens that offer ample room. There aren’t any water hazards a few strategically placed sand traps come into play and there are also mature trees lining the fairways. Golfers will get to practice a variety of different shots on this course. It is player-friendly enough for high-handicappers but there are still some challenges for low handicappers. The excellent condition of the greens and fairways are inviting no matter what your skill level. In addition to the golf course, Willowick also offers a grass driving range and three practice putting greens.

The course is poorly maintained. I understand that the dollar amount is not high but it doesn’t mean that the facility should be that crappy. I will not be going to this course any time soon or maybe in the future. The grass is not maintained at all. You have homeless people just walking across the course.
Willowick at it's worst condition
We have playing Willowick for many years. I would rate the course condition as the worst I have ever seen. The fairways are covered with large weeds. Looks like the rest of the course hasn't been mowed in weeks. It is so bad, I wonder if it is deliberate. With that said, being able to play a regulation length course with a cart for only $25. makes it ALMOST worth it.
Fun course
This is a very fun course to play on. The fairways are wide but some of the tall grass hides your ball too well. The staff are very friendly and so were the other golfers we spoke with. I’ll definitely be back to play there again soon!
Not worth the $$
Greens are trash. Fairway? Looks more like a dirt pile. Golf cart pulls back and forth. Save your money and don't wast ur time. Homeless ppl living on the course.
Horrible
This course was THE worst course I have ever played at. The rates for this course should be way lower than they are. Horrible course but the staff was cool.
Waste of money
Staff was not friendly. Course was not kept up and dirty. They just don’t care.
But we were not rushed because no one wants to play here.
Great price, bad conditions.
Layout is weird, overall keeping of the course on the front 9 is not good lol. Fun to play if you just wanna go hit some balls. Very open fairways so lots of crossfire from other holes. Overall had a blast, just wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for something in good condition.
Dirty
They don’t maintain the course at all. There is trash and old dead leafs everywhere. .
