About
Opened in 1929, Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana is Orange County's oldest public golf course. It is a challenging layout that has garnered a quite a following over the years. The course features wide fairways and large greens that offer ample room. There aren’t any water hazards a few strategically placed sand traps come into play and there are also mature trees lining the fairways. Golfers will get to practice a variety of different shots on this course. It is player-friendly enough for high-handicappers but there are still some challenges for low handicappers. The excellent condition of the greens and fairways are inviting no matter what your skill level. In addition to the golf course, Willowick also offers a grass driving range and three practice putting greens.

Awful condition
This was probably the worst maintained course I have ever seen in my life. Literally the worst. The fairway all were patchy everywhere and unkept and it honestly felt like we’re at a local park playing golf on the grass that kids play on. The greens were bumpy and terribly groomed and there was a 5 cart pileup on every hole. Terrible course and will never go again.
Absolutely awful
The course was in the worst conditions possible. Never have i ever had an experience as bad as this. Also the pace of play was garbage. Was there for nearly 6 hours. Do not come here
Cow pasture
If this course was free, I’d still want my money back.. fairways were just as thick as the rough. When you weren’t on those ares, you were on dirt. Only thing pleasant about this course was the staff.

Subpar
Yes pun intended! For the money, it's a solid course, but the course conditions leave a lot to be desired. The fairways are patchy, and the rough is usually dirt. If you're relatively new to course play, then this course is probably not for you. If you're experienced, and can shape some shots, then this course can be a great value deal. Not many regulations courses for the money.

Ugh!
Was desperate to get out to play 18 on a short notice and only found Willowick. The course is in bad shape. Tee boxes are horrendous right now. The fairways are a joke. You need a Ford Raptor to drive on them and cart paths are even worse to drive on. The greens look like a skinned giraffe. The pace was maddening. 5.5 hours. A group of girls in front of us were driving their carts on the greens and parking them there to putt. Then, they’d drive onto the next tee box, park, and tee off. They were actually mad at ME for asking them not to do that. No Marshall? Just a bad experience all around. The girls let us play through but it still took forever to finish. I won’t be coming back. Look elsewhere brothers and sisters. Or, ignore my review and find out how honest I am for yourselves. Play well!…just at another course.

Course is in sad condition. Several homeless people living on the course.

Muni
Willowick is a nice muni. Greens were in pretty good shape and fairways ok. Course just needs some TLC and it is fine. It allows the use of all clubs and is a fair course.

Fun course
Overall the course is a lot of fun. The fairways are pretty messed up as are many of the greens. But the layout is a really fun and I would definitely come back.
