Willowick Golf Course

I hadn’t played Willowick for over 15 years. I was reminded today why. Snack bar was closed. Pro shop was inaccessible. Range was closed. Starter was as cold as you can be without me calling him an a-hole. Carts that were supposedly fully charged struggled to drive through the grass and get up and over small hills. Couldn’t buy beer because they didn’t have any to sell. Fairways were in horrible condition, over watered and not mown. All this for $52 per person. What a f’n joke!

Front 9 greens are rough. Great value for 18 holes. Recommend back 9 next time

We had a fun round - paired with a couple of fun guys. We were happy to find a Sunday morning tee time on short notice. This course is “forgiving” for a high handicap player like myself.

However, (a) we couldn’t hit balls on the driving range before our round because they didn’t have enough range balls (maybe supply, maybe staffing - either way, let us know on your website - we arrived early so we could warm up - the website brags about the grass driving range); (b) the fairways had weeds in it (maybe staffing, maybe …) - I don’t typically hit a high percentage of fairways but did today and had “tough” lies in some of them; and (c) the only place to get water was at the clubhouse - pretty dang warm today - not convenient.

Pace of play was reasonable. The course layout was fun.

Greens are covered in fungus/moss. I’ve been here many times. Price is right for what you get.

This is a challenging course because of the tricky undulating greens. Every approach shot must be calibrated with the greens in mind. Fairways and rough are barely distinguishable. Grass driving range is a huge bonus as is practice greens and pitching area.

Play today was super slow. A Marshall checking things out every few hours would not hurt.

Willowick isn’t terrible, but it’s almost there. It’s a rough field and I don’t think anyone who plays here will tell you that it’s a nice course because it isn’t. However, the prices are cheap and for the price, I would say that it’s not a bad deal. Just don’t expect anything exciting or extraordinary.

It’s not a nice course.

$26 with cart on the weekdays or 29 on the weekend is a deal you just can’t beat. Greens are very good, fairways are fair but better than most I’ve played in the area. Would definitely recommend to a friend

This course was a weather choice, much cooler in Santa Ana than by my house, probably 15 degrees. Course was in pretty rough shape, could improve course with directionally signage, kinda got lost on a few holes. most of the fairways were in decent shape, greens pretty rough. Over all the course was worth the $26 I paid, but probably won’t come back unless I have the same weather situation.

Very slow and lots of balls flying everywhere the course is too compact

Course zig zags back and forth. You are constantly hitting the ball towards other people. The front 9 was in terrible condition, tee boxes were uneven, there’s no difference between the rough and fairway, greens were completely uneven. The back 9 was decent compared to the front. I will not be playing again.
