About
Opened in 1929, Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana is Orange County's oldest public golf course. It is a challenging layout that has garnered a quite a following over the years. The course features wide fairways and large greens that offer ample room. There aren’t any water hazards a few strategically placed sand traps come into play and there are also mature trees lining the fairways. Golfers will get to practice a variety of different shots on this course. It is player-friendly enough for high-handicappers but there are still some challenges for low handicappers. The excellent condition of the greens and fairways are inviting no matter what your skill level. In addition to the golf course, Willowick also offers a grass driving range and three practice putting greens.

Ouch!!!
This course was a weather choice, much cooler in Santa Ana than by my house, probably 15 degrees. Course was in pretty rough shape, could improve course with directionally signage, kinda got lost on a few holes. most of the fairways were in decent shape, greens pretty rough. Over all the course was worth the $26 I paid, but probably won’t come back unless I have the same weather situation.
Slow pace keep on your toes for mishit balls
Very slow and lots of balls flying everywhere the course is too compact
Bad
Course zig zags back and forth. You are constantly hitting the ball towards other people. The front 9 was in terrible condition, tee boxes were uneven, there’s no difference between the rough and fairway, greens were completely uneven. The back 9 was decent compared to the front. I will not be playing again.
Disappointing Saturday
Front desk employee was insanely rude and scolded us for being 4 mins late to the tee time for a 1 star course that is so beyond overbooked. The course is pretty rough for the price they’re asking, with the greens being patchy. Poorly marked we were left wandering around wasting time to just get to the next hole overall would not recommend if you actually want to play golf.

Cant believe they charged us $50 to play on this course
I drove down to LA with my wife for the weekend and played a round with family, I didn't know what to expect really. But I didn't expect what I saw. It seems the course is under new management but DO NOT play this course until conditions get better, it's severely overpriced. Maintenance is non-existent here, fairways are trash, greens are trash. Play somewhere else, seriously.

Bumpy
Bumpy all over including fairways. A jarring ride in the cart as a result. Most greens had two types of grass growing on them.

Nice wide open course
Fairways in pretty good shape considering the lack of rain , pace was good for a weekend, will be back
