About
Opened in 1929, Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana is Orange County's oldest public golf course. It is a challenging layout that has garnered a quite a following over the years. The course features wide fairways and large greens that offer ample room. There aren’t any water hazards a few strategically placed sand traps come into play and there are also mature trees lining the fairways. Golfers will get to practice a variety of different shots on this course. It is player-friendly enough for high-handicappers but there are still some challenges for low handicappers. The excellent condition of the greens and fairways are inviting no matter what your skill level. In addition to the golf course, Willowick also offers a grass driving range and three practice putting greens.

Great service
Decent course but very friendly employees. Great service
Not recommended
Pros:
- Green fee was $56 on Saturday
- Green speed was decent
Cons:
- Layout of the course. Fairways and holes are clumped up. Many tee box shared with other holes.
- Offroading and non-existent cart paths.
- Pace of play was horrible. Backed up almost 30 minutes. No marshall to enforce pace of play. Saw a group of 6 players with 3 carts.
- No cart girl on 87 degree weather.
Fairways still need some improvement.
Tee boxes are looking better than ever before love it.
Gophers holes still shows on fairway.
Great deal, good course
I feel this course is very user friendly for beginners like myself. Only lost one ball which is a win in itself : )
I recommend this course for anyone that's not on too high of a horse.
The entire staff is top notch awesome! Very laid back vibe throughout.

Slow pace but overall good time golfing. Greens were a little fast

The golf course is not well kept and require major maintenance.
Willowick
Fairways were in pretty good shape for here. The greens were recently punched, no notice of that listed before booking. So, you had no chance of making putts of more than 5 feet unless you got a lucky roll. Give it about 2 weeks and the greens will be in better shape.
Hilariously bad...
I'm not a spoiled or high class golfer by any means. I am a beginner golfer (2 years) and have played all different levels of courses.
This was, hands down, the worst course I've played. BUT... we had an absolute blast because we couldn't stop laughing at how bad the tee boxes, fairways, greens, cart paths, and everything else were.
Riding in the golf carts feels like your at an off-road race.
Paid $60 to golf here... I wouldn't pay $6 to golf here unless it was to prank a friend.
this course has actually gotten worse
I can't believe just how bad the course conditions are. I've been playing here for over 35 years and yesterday was my last time ever playing here. pro shop and bar staff personnel are excellent.
Pleasantly Surprised
3 practice putting greens and 2 chipping greens. Course was in better condition than I expected due to the poor reviews. Yes it’s not the best but not terrible. Wide open and easy layout, mostly nice and flat. Great value for the money, I paid $35 with golf pass and Hot deal on a Sunday. Would play again for that price anytime.
Good layout, so bumpy though
Played a 4 some with a riding cart and two walkers. All struggled at times with the small undulations in the course. It made for a bumpy ride. But the course was pretty good otherwise. Perhaps a little ugly, but so is my golf game.
Great value. Fast pace for a Saturday AM
Plaid as a single and pace was fast. Finished 18 in 3.5 hours. Some fairways could use additional trimming as balls can get lost but overall great value and speed for the price.
