Willowick Golf Course

In the middle of 6th hole my cart was almost dead and not working. They gave me the cart without being fully charged. I gave a pro shop. They say call back in5 mins. And I did so and answered no one was there at the pro shop and call back in 5 mins again. While the players behind us were yelling and shot toward us not saying sorry. I called 5 mins later and call in 5 mins again??? After 20 mins or so two guys came up to us ,who I had been longing for. They tried to teach me how to drive a cart!! Not knowing it was not charged!! My golf was getting terrible and I felt terrible,too. No one apologized for that. It was another terrible day of my life.

This course by a far margin was the worst I have played. Started from first tee. Foursome 2 teens and 2 women just ridiculous how they played. Waiting until the group in front of them was off the greens to hit there tee shot, then the teens would hit multiple shots? Just bad. Best part of the round was that I got paired up with a cool guy with patience. Started the round 12:47 finished the front nine +3hrs played 18 back nine finished 5:45. No Marshals!!! First & Last…

Nothing fancy here. A good course to practice and enjoy. The staff were great. Played 2 days in a row and they noticed. Good friendly conversation. Would play again for the value.

Fun curse easy to play and have fun. Not for serious players. Prefect for a good time

I haven’t been here in a few years so I immediately noticed a huge improvement on the course condition. There are a lot of long par 4 holes mixed with medium range par 3s. Definitely worth a visit, and can’t beat the price.

Desperate to find open tee times, we played Willowick for the second and last time. It needs a lot of maintenance; lots of weeds in the fairways, greens fine, and plain lay-out, it's a muni that gets no love.

I’m trying to think of something nice to say about this course, but I can’t find anything. OK, the proshop worker was really nice. Aside from him, the course is by far the worst I’ve played in LA/OC…maybe ever. The fairways are in horrendous shape! Grass is green but driving through the fairway is like driving off road and trying to find your ball is a real challenge. We found 12+ balls, so I’m not alone in losing balls here…in the fairway. Greens were OK, but like any poorly maintained course, players tend not to care for greens when the course is as rough as Willowick is. I was hopeful it would play better than it looked, but I was disappointed on every hole. Won’t be going back.

Good:

- I played by myself on a Friday morning and finished my round in 2.5 hours.

- Price was really good for 18 with a cart

- Greens were in really good shape

Not as Good:

- Fairways were in rough shape

- Ran into maintenance crews on every hole 10-18

Definitely a good course for an average golfer to have a great time!

staff are always friendly everytime i come here— but the course really is a desperate persons course.

Its relatively cheap, tee times available even last minute, i think theyll squeeze you in if you dont have a tee time.

Course? Horribly maintained. Whats the point of hitting thr fairway if you’re driving on the moon with gravity tuned hp to 11. Divots everywhere. Patches all around. Sand is assavle.

Greens and tee boxes are relatively nice tho.

Gopher holes, thickets, trash, and homeless encampments are making the place more dangerous. Way too expensive.
