About
Opened in 1929, Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana is Orange County's oldest public golf course. It is a challenging layout that has garnered a quite a following over the years. The course features wide fairways and large greens that offer ample room. There aren’t any water hazards a few strategically placed sand traps come into play and there are also mature trees lining the fairways. Golfers will get to practice a variety of different shots on this course. It is player-friendly enough for high-handicappers but there are still some challenges for low handicappers. The excellent condition of the greens and fairways are inviting no matter what your skill level. In addition to the golf course, Willowick also offers a grass driving range and three practice putting greens.

Terrible, just terrible how they've let this course go
The course is in terrible condition, you actually lose balls on the fairways, not the rough, in the middle of the fairway. This is due to clumps of uncut grass and indentations from (I guess) heavy mowers sinking into the soft ground. It was still fun but man has the course gone bad over the past 6 months. It was never in good condition to begin with (I've been playing there for years) but its really, really gone down hill since Covid started.

Rough condition. For $15 with a cart however...guess you can’t complain.

Simple, easy, decent course
The course is very easy, at a 68.4 rating for par 71. I like the fact that the fairways are pretty wide open, and on most holes even if you miss your drive pretty bad, you'll be able to find your ball and likely launch it over some trees. Course conditions are pretty average, and the layout it a little boring but there are some easy par 5's and drivable par 4s that make it fun. This course is good for building confidence in my opinion.

$51 not worth it
I'd pay $20 to play this course again but nothing more. Terrible maintenance. If you want to take a nap, hole 16 has mattresses laying by the green.

Greens and fairways were terrible
on the outsides of the course, it looked like homeless people made camps all around the perimeter of the course. Will not play there again

Dried out with terrible greens.
The greens are in horrible shape right now. The ball hops and bounces all over the place on every putt. There’s more dirt than grass on the course. I booked bc it was $25 to play 18. Next time, I’ll play a more expensive course.
