Westchase Golf Club
About
Designed by Lloyd Clifton, Westchase winds through acres of lakes, conservation areas and forest. It offers manicured greens surrounded by natural wetlands, wooden bridges and bulkheads. With its 9,500 sq. ft. clubhouse, full-service dining room, and fully stocked pro shop, Westchase offers a country club atmosphere along with first-class service. The golf club has established itself as one of Tampa Bay's best upscale golf facilities. The front nine meander through an impressive pine forest. The back nine -- which is demanding on the tee shot -- features lakes, wetlands and cypress. Strategically placed bunkers, more sparkling lakes and stands of cypress, oak, palmetto and pine frame the fairways and greens. Signature Hole No. 3, at 212 yards from the back tee, is all you can handle -- It's a Par 3 all-carry over water from the back tee!

Great value
$26 to play 9 holes. Great value. Course was in nice shape. Super narrow and challenging
Good staff
Excellent Staff over all !! Course wet conditions, need draining investissment, interesting layout, it was take 4hours 30 to play ( too long) cart path only cause . It was a golf day with no rhythm. Some tee off is too close to the next hole.
Great little course but overbooked meant slow pace
Nice course but 6 hour round is just too long for me
Great Value
1st time playing there in about 6 months. Greens were fast and true. Fairways were lush. Pace of play was good; finished in 4 hours. Staff was friendly. Can't wait to way it again!
Beautiful course with great amenities
The course was in great shape, the greens were very true and the pace of play for the day after Thanksgiving was very good. The only recommendation I have is that the par threes should have distance markers in the Tee Box areas for players who do not have GPS.
Westchase
Overall a good course to play. The greens were faster than anticipated, especially given the below average appearance of the greens.
Nice Fairways, Speedy Greens
Compared to many courses in the area, Westchase has cut their greens close to give them the speed one expects on a higher rated course. Rough is a bit grabby which is normal for Bermuda grasses after a wet Summer but the fairways give excellent lies. Drives in the fairway lead to excellent scoring opportunities but stay below the hole or a missed putt may be a eight foot try for par.
Love the course
I've played there a lot over the years. The first cut just off the greens needed work on some of the wholes. But greens and fairways were in great shape. Bunkers nice fluffy. Tee boxes good shape grass a little long for my taste. People always friendly and helpful. Will always play there. They also have there kids free program. I bring my 5 year old grandson to play all the time. Yes I said 5 years old. And he plays. Yes played. He hits the ball 125 to 150 off the tee. He boggeed all the par 3s.
Overbooked
We arrived 30 min ahead of tee time and were told GolfNow should've never offered our tee time because they had a tournament scheduled that afternoon (of course it's not their fault). We were immediately rushed out to the 11th hole to start our round and told to stay ahead of the tournament. We ran into the back of another group and had to wait every hole until after the 18th. No apology or offer to make it up to us from the staff.
5h plus round
Very friendly staff, excellent greens and interesting course layout. Pace of play was terrible. We were playing behind a women’s league foursome which was extremely slow even with cart path only rules. Our round was 5 hours 25 minutes which took the fun out of the game.
Course layout very good with a lot of water coming into play. However, some major roads close to some holes and distances not correct on some holes (my wife‘s tee box was about 20 yards from the 200 yard mark but the score card said more than 320 yards!?). If you play a course for the first time you need to rely on yardages on the score card. I hit a perfect shot on a par3 which I was expecting to land next to the pin but ended up 10 yards behind the green.
Liked it enough to play it again
To start, the driving range is a lake so hitting balls in the water seems normal after a while :) The course was in very good shape despite some wet conditions. Greens were firm and fast, but that's how I like them. Got paired up with a local, which was invaluable on a few holes. Accurate tee shot placement is a must on a number of holes. Excellent staff in the pro shop and the restaurant. Overall a very enjoyable round. Thank you
New favorite course
The pro told me it was really wet, cart path only. I walked, luckily there wasn't nearly as much water as they made it seem. Walked in under 3.5 hours. Great pace of play and very challenging pin positions. Can't wait to return.
Pleasant Morning at Westchase
My brother and I were looking for reasonably priced golf courses in the Clearwater area. We picked up a GolfNow reservation and discovered the price we paid was just about the normal weekday rate. The staff was very attentive and courteous. We got in and out of the proshop, hit a few, putted a few and played a quick round in about 3 hours. Greens were true and quick. As it was the first time on the course we played up a box and found it to be plenty challenging. We had lunch after the round and the restaurant was OK. I will be back.
