Babe is a good course to play
Very nice course staff was friendly ice cold beers at the end
the worst
This is without a doubt the worst tract I have ever played. Tee boxes are dirt, fairways are dirt, greens are abysmal & also dirt. I’d pay $35 not to play there again. It was actually comical to see how unmaintained this course is. Only thing worse than the course was the gnat population. They were an unstoppable force. Play here and get ready to play in terrible conditions on 95% of the course and snack on gnats while you drive your windshield-less golf cart. Bring your ski goggles to protect your eyes.
"The Babe"
Had no played Babe Z in a while and the greens were ok they did have some rough areas on all the greens, fairways were beat up pretty bad. Would have been a quicker round of golf if Club House had not let 2 some and 3 some combine after a couple of holes as they held us up the rest of the day once we got behind them. Starter absolutely fantastic!!!!!!1!
Cheap rates
About the only benefit to this course is if you have gold pass and use your $10 credit then the round is in the mid $20 range…
Greens are the worst I have seen around Tampa and the tee boxes are mostly terrible too. Fairways are decent, but not close to being good. Pace of play was good when I played too, but it was a Wednesday morning and was playing “bookie” from work. The course has a lot of high handicappers and if you’re a golfer than can make pars and birdies , then do not play this course.
Poor
Don’t wast your time or money play there not worth it. Poor Maintain course, not worth anything. Too many places in Tampa to play there for a better . Hope the city of Tampa can get the course back in goodshape. I will not be returning anytime soon nor what any of my friends.
AWFUL
From the very beginning, the receptionist was very rude and condescending. Apparently it was supposed to rain that day so she asked us if we were from Florida. Like yeah born and raised in Florida unlike you who look like an out-of-state import. But needless to say it did not rain that day so she's not a very good meteorologist.
Secondly the course conditions were abysmal. The absolute worst golf conditions I've ever seen in my entire life and I've played hundreds of golf courses in Florida. There's nothing positive that you could reference about this course.
The fairways were nothing but dirt and weeds, the greens were dead all the way to the dirt and the tee boxes were nothing more than just hills of dirt.
100% worst course I have ever been to and I've been to Swiss fairways in Clermont which speaks volumes to the conditions or lack thereof of this course.
Do not play this course. And don't listen to the five star reviews they are complete Fabrications.
AWFUL!!!!!
First of all the staff is very snarky and condescending. I was born and raised in Florida and this woman had the audacity to ask me if I was from Florida because she thought it was going to rain. Needless to say it never rained that day.
Secondly, and most importantly, the course conditions were abysmal. The absolute worst course I have ever been to in my entire life and I have played at least a couple of hundred in Florida alone.
I wouldn't go back to this course if my mom were to have a funeral at this golf course.
Wally
I only have one thing to say Don’t play there . Not worth the money or time. To many our courses in Tampa area that you can play and enjoy.Don’t look like they know how to manage a course. So if thinking about play there don’t and find another place . Hopefully they improve but I wouldn’t be back for a long time and I will tell my buddy’s not to go. Sorry babe but hope you can fix it up.
Ball marks
The “Babe” just completed an overhaul of the greens and they are fast for a municipal course. The issue is that most amateurs don’t fix their ball marks and that’s a shame because it’ll ruin the putting surfaces. When I’m lucky enough to make a ball mark, I find pride in fixing mine and at least two more!! Please fix your pitch mark!!
Sunday Golf
The Babe is a wonderful city course. Not to challenging but not easy. It was great playing on Sunday because it was not too crowded. Wonderful staff.
Needs work
Potentially a very interesting course some nice holes, but it’s just in terrible condition. I need to spend some money and take care of the course. A little grass would help.
