Countryway Golf Club
About
Countryway Golf Club is an executive golf course that is known for its extremely affordable rates. Situated in the heart of Westchase, it is considered one of the best values in Tampa Bay. The layout consists of eleven par-3 holes and seven par 4s. The golf course is challenging enough for more advanced golfers but it is still player-friendly enough for beginners to enjoy. The rolling terrain provides undulations in both the greens and fairways. The hills also make for some challenging putts. There is no shortage of water at Countryway Golf Club with hazards coming into play on 14 holes. There are also bunkers strategically placed throughout.

Went downhill
Used to be a bit of a gem, a short course in decent enough condition to get some practice in for a couple bucks more than a bucket of balls at most ranges. As of today, the course is in terrible condition, fairways are patchy and the greens are in really rough shape with literal sod squares on most of them. To be fair to them, they do warn you of this when paying in the pro shop. Hoping they get things back in order soon but for now I’ll just stick to the range or pay a little more for a twilight rate elsewhere.
Extremely poor playing conditions!
The course was a disaster; sob patches, dirt, and dead grass every where. Way over crowded, waiting 5/10 mins to tee off at every hole. And the course design was the worse; tee boxes directly behind the previous greens leave players in line of shots at almost every hole.
Paid $30 and felt like I was ripped off
Showing wear
We love this place and the staff, but it is showing signs of being played alot and the weather (heat and no rain). Tee boxes and the fairways were in pretty rough conditions. The greens were in very good condition though.
Ricky says
Course is a good value for the money and is more difficult than you would think given the overall length.
This course has terrible course management
The putting greens were not only recently punched but also sand all over to indicate divots that throw off your entire putting routine. The tee boxes weren’t much better but I guess it could be worse. Won’t be visiting here again.
Woof
Used to play here frequently a couple of years ago and won't be returning anytime soon. Important to note that it's a budget course and one's expectations should be low.
However, upon arrival there was miscellaneous litter in the parking lot (AND on the course). The tee boxes were beat up, the fairways were mostly dirt & weeds, and the greens were borderline unplayable. You definitely get what you pay for @ Country Way.
Friendly staff and good value
The staff was friendly as usual. It's also good value for the price.
Not 4 Star
This course is definitely not a 4 star course Most tee boxes and fairways in bad condition. Many greens with bald spots. The app should prominently indicate that this a par 61 course. Pace of play was bad. Many beginners. This is good course for an outing with the kids.
Par 61, a par 3 course w some 4’s
The staff, including starter Bill, we’re super friendly, but it’s a par 3 course w a couple bonus 4s. Sandy fairways and greens have some work to get back to full coverage. Pace of play is amazingly slow. If it’s your first foray into golf, it’s actually a good choice, if you play regularly and are looking for a game, I would say pass
