Countryway Golf Club
About
Countryway Golf Club is an executive golf course that is known for its extremely affordable rates. Situated in the heart of Westchase, it is considered one of the best values in Tampa Bay. The layout consists of eleven par-3 holes and seven par 4s. The golf course is challenging enough for more advanced golfers but it is still player-friendly enough for beginners to enjoy. The rolling terrain provides undulations in both the greens and fairways. The hills also make for some challenging putts. There is no shortage of water at Countryway Golf Club with hazards coming into play on 14 holes. There are also bunkers strategically placed throughout.

Terribly managed
Ended up leaving on the third hole as there was a party of six and two parties of 4 ahead of us amd the party of the 6 one guy was missing swing after swing while his buddies were teaching him how to hit and course officials were sitting there watching. This place is almost always over booked. The back 9 wasn't so backed up so they could start some people on 10 sometimes but the they never do. Poorly managed makes for terribly slow playing experience.
Great short-game practice course
Countryway is a great place to practice your short game. There are rolling fairways, tricky approach shots, and other challenges. It can get pretty busy at times.
great shortie
This course will test you long and short one hole 68 years and others 279,302.114, HAVE FUN
Executive course, slow play, horrible greens
When we got to the course there were three foursomes waiting to tee off on the first tee. The starter had us tee off on 10. When we came around to tee off on hole one there was another backup. The greens were in terrible shape. There's a reason why it only cost $22 to play on a weekend. It's a decent course if you're a beginner and don't mind waiting.
Get what you pay for….I guess
It was only 16 bucks for 18 so I can’t complain too much but the starter was rude and him letting people go off one at a time on a crowded course was a little strange. I didn’t tee off until 15 minutes after my scheduled tee time so he didn’t seem to have much of a handle on the organization aspect of it. Then as I’m leaving he told me my cart “goes under the tree..: where they always go”. I told him it was my first time playing the course then he asked if that was me who was “picking balls out of the water over there” (??) I picked this course because it was close to the airport and I had an outing the next day so wanted to get a few holes in. Even for 16 bucks, I’d go elsewhere to not deal with the starter who seems is worried about everything else but getting people off on time and staying organized.
9 holes in TWO AND HALF HOURS........YUCK!!!!
I have played this courrse before during the week, BUT never experienced such slow play, and there was no marshall on the course to push the slow players, Reggretfully, I quit after playing 9 holes in TWO AN HALF HOUS, For a short course the playin time should be3 hours for 18 holes. I trust GOLFPASS will credit me at least HALF the rate I paid. I am a loal GOLFPASS patron.
Slow, slow, slow
A foursome if men were holding up 5 groups of golfers. I called the pro shop who said they would send someone out. Nothing changed.
Unfortunately I was unable to play on my scheduled day of 9/20/21 because of a sudden and unexpected family issue, so I was unable to get my refund. I have, however, played this course several times and always find it to be perfectly manicured and a very enjoyable and challenging course, even for a shorter course. I hope to be able to play there again in the near future.
