After being turned over to the city of Tampa for a mere $1, it reopened in 1954 as Rocky Point Golf Course. It is the closest golf course to Tampa International Airport, only a 15-minute drive away. The layout provides a fair challenge water hazards coming into play on 11 holes and sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. Rocky Point Golf Course's lakes are home to an abundance of wildlife and also serves as a bird sanctuary.

Great Day
Last 4 holes were a bit slow because of a group of 5 ladies …
Rocky Point
Great course, decent layout and just enough water to make it real interesting. I will play it again for sure.
Get what you pay for
The prices were very low but with that came terrible course conditions. Staff was also not present to manage the pace of play on a busy Saturday.
Know how to hit shots
Not a long course, BUT! You have to hit placement shots, greens are great and role true
Rocky point
Played on Thursday morning, ALWAYS a slow round. No ranger called the pro shop to tell them a 5-some was 2 holes behind they said we'll send somebody out. Nobody came spent 4 hours when i could have finished in 2 easy.
Rocky Point is a good course but its always in bad shape the greens a re super fast and nice though.
Impressive
The golf course was in excellent condition. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great shape. The greens were rolling fast. It’s always a good challenge. There was two of us and pace of play was good. We were done in 3 1/2 hours.
Ugly Duckling
This course may look like an Ugly Duckling in others eyes but I think it is a Sleeping Beauty. I really enjoyed it the second time I played it. There are some really good holes that demand you to make some good shots. With a strong wind it makes for plenty of tough holes. The price is definitely right when you get it on Hot Deal. The staff is very friendly too
Course was packed, literally waiting on every t box 10 plus minutes
Dog Track
Well the greens were fine not great but just fine the rest of the course was a mess from a maintenance standpoint fairways rough it was just a very unappealing course aesthetically if you’re visiting Tampa and looking for a place to play please do not go here waste of your time
Friendly staff, beautiful course, great location!
Jeff was super friendly & checked on me once I told him I was a beginner golfer! I hadn't golfed in 10 years before talking with him and he was super helpful. Other golfers were super nice too. Guy in the pro shop, lady at the grill, and guy at the cart return were all super helpful and kind as well. I would recommend this course to any beginner golfers or ladies who might feel inspired to get out and golf but don't know where to start. Thanks for a great 9 holes!
