Kokopelli Golf Course

Play was super slow. The tee times are too close together and doesn't allow a faster pace. Paid for 18 holes but only got 9 in due to time. Please make the tee times are farther apart. It took us 3 hours to get 9 done! More waiting for the group in front that actual play.

We teed off at 640 and completed round at 945. The pace was great and the course was in excellent shape.

You need course Marshall’s in the later part of the day to speed up pace of play.

It’s horrible when you have to wait at least 3 minutes or more before every shot.

Unbelievable.

A lot of dirt spaces in fairways on front 9. Back 9 is better and in better shape.

I have been playing this course since the mid 90’s and it was always one of my favorites. I gave up on it a few years back after a few extremely disappointing rounds. The tees were uneven and chewed up. The fairways were almost unplayable. The bunkers had grass growing in them and the smell from the poorly maintained lakes was overwhelming.

My friend and I decided to give it another go despite the mixed reviews online. I was ver surprised driving up to see how lush the course looked. Reminded me of how it was 20 years ago. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the clubhouse looks great. I wish the practice tees had some grass on the areas that were marked. Very chewed up.

Course:

Pros: most tees were in very good condition. Actual sand in the sand traps! Green were in great shape and putted very well. (I do wish people would learn how to repair ball marks). Fairways were in good shape for the most part.

Cons:

Anything off the fairways was in the dirt. There are so many places off the fairways with dirt that the little bit of rain turned a lot of it into mud that flowed everywhere. Hopefully they can get to work on getting grass to grow all over again to help that problem or lay down sand and rocks to make it desert like and stop the mud from forming.

Staff:

Pros: every single golf support staff were nice, friendly and helpful. From the guy who checked us in to the starter and ranger never heard an unkind word and they were very conscious of making sure we were enjoying the day and our needs were met.

Cons: food and beverage staff. We teed off at 7 and didn’t see beverage cart until halfway down the 9th fairway. Started to place an order and the girl sighed loudly and threw the blanket she was wrapped up in on the cart. I wanted to apologize (sarcastically) for inconveniencing her for placing and order. We told her we will wait until the turn and get something from the clubhouse. The clubhouse was no better. Three people behind the counter, six people waiting in line. One person working to prepare food. The other two were talking about with their backs to us was some kind of upcoming road-trip. I not exaggerating when they talked for 5 minutes while everyone waited to place an order. Their job is to serve customers and they clearly had no training in how to do that. Saw the beverage cart one more time and I had to chase her down the cart path whistling to get her to stop. Again so sorry for wanting to buy something. I will say that was the absolute worst part of the day.

I have always loved this course and after coming back to give it another try we will put it back on our rotation.

Horrible golf course with slow greens. They allowed groups of six which made the experience even worse. Never again!

Kokopelli has come a long way in the past year or so. Course is in great shape tee to green, except for a little standing water from several storms that happened several days in a row. We will be back!

For a guy playing bogie golf, I enjoyed playing this course. Playing from yellow with a slope of 129, I enjoyed the challenge. Stay on the fairway, avoid the rough which could use some maintenance. Difficult undulating greens top off the challenge. Have fun!

The course layout is quite good. The par 3 ‘S are long and some par 5’S also on the long side, at least for me.
