Kokopelli Golf Course
About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Is this round over yet?! Photo submitted by u000001335906 on 01/03/2015
It can be fixed
Score card vs the course.... #1 box and #10 box was confusing to me and wasn't explained. I get it now after my guy cleaned my clubs. Carrt guy should be the starter and move the other 2 guys in the club house to a useful position..
D-U-M-P
One of the worst golf courses I’ve played in AZ. Sand and dirt all over the course, grass is scalped, crab grass every where. No pace of play enforcement. Stuck behind a DUO for 55 minutes through 3 holes. Won’t be coming back, save your money and look elsewhere.
Sand traps not playable
Definitely the san traps are the worst of the sixty plus courses I have played in the valley
Course Review
Good course. Fun to play. Rough spots throughout. Bunkers were awful. I chose to pick up and not play out of them- they were hard dirt- very little sand. If I had avoided the bunkers it would have been a much more honest round.
Fast round and good deal
Played in a threesome and finished under 4 hours. Most of the course is in fairly good shape. There were a few holes on the front nine that had some bad spots on the fairways, but overall, I thought it was in good shape. Greens seemed to be in good shape too. Don't remember any bad spots. Beverage cart came around 3 times. Rangers were all super nice and in good spirits.
Thanks for a great round.
Horrible pace if play awful bunkers
The greens and the fairways were in good shape very challenging course as well. The bunkers we're awful it felt like hitting out of concrete, tons of debris and weeds as well. Took 5 hours to play 18 holes, and the beverage cart only managed to make 1 appearance. For the cost of the round it is not worth the money. Plan far enough ahead so you are not desperate and forced to pay more at a sub par course.
Good value for the money
Not a top end course, but we weren't expecting it to be. Nice layout, tee boxes and greens were good. Fairways a bit spotty, roughs the same. We just wanted a course where we could shake the rust off, as we are from Minnesota and hadn't golfed for 6-7 months! . I would say good value for the money!
Course poorly maintained
Course is poorly maintained, sand traps have not been maintained in quite some time, golf cart ran out of gas on hole 7 and had minimal brakes. Poor setup when you finish your round for getting your clubs back to your vehicle. Not a good value for the money
slow pace of play
been playing this course 25 years and the pace of play has gotten worse and worse. Granted there are golfers who do not understand golf etiquette and drink to much but the rangers should educate and move people along. Group in front of us would not tee off until the group ahead of them was off the greet, and that is par4s and5s and they were terrible. Playing from the tips and balls barely going 175.
I wish I could give it a better rating.
Trenches were in terrible condition. Only saw a few with actual sand in them and not hard rock dirt. Greens were the only thing that were in great condition. Fairways were okay, the roughs weren’t even grass in a lot of places, and just dirt. I’m shocked at the course condition because I feel like it has a big name to live up to, but even the driving range was painful to look at. I really wish I could’ve enjoyed the round of golf more, but it was hard to enjoy it when almost everything was in poor conditions for it only being March. Whoever is in charge of the greens should either get a raise or run the whole course because the greens were impressive compared to the rest of the course.
Very poor conditions
Will never return to this course again. There was no communication that the score card was opposite to where you start.
