Kokopelli Golf Course
About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Is this round over yet?! Photo submitted by u000001335906 on 01/03/2015
Had a grand old time
I consider myself a beginner, that being said, this was an excellent course. Not busy at all, was able to have a lot of time to complete my round, and being that I am an extreme newbie, I don't want to spend a fortune for my round, at least not until I am halfway decent. Perfect course if you want to hang out with you buddies, looking to have fun and or if you are not a seasoned golfer!
Poor shape
Course was in bad shape don’t play here. Dirt fairways. 61 bucks was a waste of money.
Stay away…..
Absolutely terrible
The course is in horrendous condition. It looks like a bomb went off in the fairway. For 35$ a round there are numerous better courses.
Staff was nice but other than that it was bad
Will was very nice at the end when finishing the course. Other than that it was a pretty poor course. So many hills, the layout was atrocious. The holes weren’t numbered so it was hard to figure out where to start. Wouldn’t recommend this course to my 5 year old kid who just started golf. He would’ve quit the game on the spot if I brought him. Overall bad experience.
Reminiscent of nuclear fallout
Do not play here, the course conditions are so bad that they shouldn't even be open. Whats even more wild is they are charging $54 for a round. Which is about $15 more than all the surrounding courses some of which are in good condition. There was literally mold and algae in the sand bunkers. To be honest i don't even know if its safe for people to be playing on. It feels like you are playing golf in a post apocalyptic dystopia, trees dead and dying fallen over on the course. Overgrown branches and roots sticking out of the ground. Dirt mud and clay with some grass sprinkled onto the fairways. The water hazards partially evaporated with mold and algae lining the sides of where water once was. Views of junked cars towering over the chain linked fence barrier that separates the fairway to the neighboring property.
What made this experience even more strange is the greens were actually pretty good
About 7ish years ago i played here a lot and the course was really awesome and kept in decent condition.
Grass, grass, grass????
The fairways were in absolutely horrible shape. There was not much grass to be found and what there was was by no means plush. Course is under new management. I will give them a year or two before I go back and try again. It was very slow with a 5-some two groups in front of us.
Don’t waste you money
Worse course I’ve ever played!!!! Don’t waste your money here. We played 7 holes and left.
Where do I start?!
Let’s start with price, $60 for this dog track is overpriced by $40.
Front nine of the course has 90% dirt/mud to 10% grass in the fairways, back nine was more 70/30 mud to grass ratio. Should’ve been some notice that there were goats that got out and ate all the grass on the course and to expect a lack of grass on a golf course.
Started the round before 7am and saw beverage cart once the entire round, only saving grace is there are water coolers with no cups along the way so make sure you fill your camel hump with water along the way.
Pace of play was over 5 hours, and how it was so busy for being such a bad course is mind blowing.
I’ve played this course numerous times over the last decade and it’s gone downhill fast, but nice to see their putting money into the Mickey Mouse clubhouse.
Kokopelli in Spanish translates to “never playing again”.
This used to be my home course
This used to be my home course. I moved away six years ago only to return to find the fairways full of dirt and sand traps full of weeds it is a total shame deterioration in for maintenance of this golf course
Disappointed with the course conditions
This course has dramatically gone downhill since I last golfed here three years ago. There was no sand in the bunkers and most of them were flooded with water.
Dog Track
This place is in terrible shape. Absurdly poor shape. More dirt than grass on most fairways. Hard pan, cracked "bunkers." No care for cart path ropes so people just drive wherever. At $60 per person it's a full blown rip-off any time of year, but especially in the AZ summer. If rates were like $10 per round, I might consider it. Save your money--there are SO MANY better bargains and places to play in the East Valley.
Overpriced
Course was all dirt/mud in the fairways. $55 a person is a bit high for this course in the summer.
Course condition
It was impossible to hit. If you hit a perfect shot, it is still on hard ground. Not worth the money I spent today. Very unfortunate.
