Kokopelli Golf Course
About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

sand traps more like concrete trap
sand traps throughout the course and the only ones where it was actually sand were 9th and 18th hole, which are right next to the club house the rest of them were like hitting out of concrete. made a challenging course which is fine very hard to manage
Front 9 - poor condition
The front line was really in poor condition. The sand traps did not have any sound and were hardest rock. The fairways had a lot of dirt rather than grass.
Course fairways
The coarse fairways on the front nine were in really bad condition for this time of the year. No sand in the sand traps as it was hard as rock. No cart lady and when we went to the clubhouse they were closed for any kind of drinks or snacks.
Kokopelli going downhill
Super dry with patches of water is the worst places. Bunkers are concrete dry. Do not pay $75 to come here. Save your money.
Review from John
Fairways too tight. More grass needed in manu fairways. Sand traps were horrible. Most did not have any sand at all Greens were nice.
Need a greenskeeper or something
We have played this course over the last 12 years, but what a surprise on how poor the course is being maintained. Understand this has always been dirt off the fairway, but it is so much worse. Only sand in traps are on the practice green and 18. The rest of the bunkers were hard packed dirt.
They soaked it in the morning so there were muddy puddles, deep tracks and dying trees. Not sure if its a water issue or just bad course maintenanxe. Starter said tbey are running 250 or more players through a day.
I can't recommend this to any one
Awful conditions
The greens were pretty good an the tee boxes were pretty good but everything else was no bueno. And don’t even get me started on the bunkers, between no sand or all the weeds, we just pulled the ball out and continued on.
Not Good Enough
You would think with all of the money that they are making they could put sand into their sand traps, greens are hard as a rock, golf carts have no brakes and are outdated and let's twosomes out in between foursomes. This course at the condition it is in should be only charging approx $40-45 until they get all of the issues listed above fixed. This course is in no way in the league with some of the other courses in the valley.
No sand
For several years there has been no sand in the traps,so you have to just throw your ball out. I don't know why they don't just seed them.to grass
Needs work
Played yesterday. Fairways are adequate. No sand in almost every bunker, except 18 at the green. Lots of dirt off the fairways. Greens were in good shape.
More Dirt than Grass
Sand traps were clay traps. Fairways on lots of holes were ungrassed
No Maintenance
If they spent a penny on sand, they put it in the 9th and 18th hole bunkers around the greens. They could take a truckload out of those bunkers and distribute to others that dot the course. This could be a nice links course, if they maintained.
We won’t be returning!
Narrow, humpy fairways and many poorly maintained sand bunkers made playing difficult.
Good course for 1st round of year
Course is pretty wide open so you can spray shots a bit without too much penalty
Sand traps are in HORRIBLE shape, mostly ungroomed, either hard as a rock or full of weeds
Whole course not nearly as lush as pictures would suggest, lot of roll on ball just because ground is dried out/hard even in parts of fairways
