Beautiful track off the beaten path on the hills. Was a lot of fun and 17,18 are beautiful overlook of the mountains.

Very pretty course. Playing surfaces in great shape. Very friendly and helpful Staff.

Greens and sand traps were not up to par with similar courses (Verado)

I play Estrella every time I’m in from Canada the past 18 years. Staff is super friendly, greens are great, and I love the layout. A must play course for everyone, and they will enjoy their round and keep coming back.

I fixed multiple ball marks on every green. If golfer don't fix their ball marks does the maintenance staff? Not here, they don’t. Soft slowish greens with many lumps and bumps!

Course is amazing but they water it way too much and we had mud balls all day and too wet around the greens and most of the fairway.

Course was way overwatered.. bunkers are wet to were a lot had puddles (unplayable). Carts are driving thru the wet fairways and starting to ruin the course.

Played Estrella today, greens were smooth, fast and changeling.

This course has potential but given they overwater I can’t see why you’d want to play there. The Nicholas designed course is a very good layout with challenging holes. The greens did hold and roll true. However the fairways and green surrounds are so over watered you have to clean your ball on just about every shot. This is consistent with other reviews. May try again IF they get these issues fixed.

Great course overall, but I gave it 3 stars due to the conditions. For a Troon-managed course, especially at this time of year and at this price point, I expected better.

The greens need to be rolled, and a few showed signs of fungus. The course overall was very wet. The bunkers were a major disappointment—mostly dirt and rocks instead of sand. I hit from a greenside bunker and ended up splashing rocks, which shouldn’t happen at a course of this caliber.

All 18 holes had plastic liners sitting proud at the top of the cup, which made lip-outs more likely unless the putt was hit dead center. I’d also expect daily pin changes at a Troon course, but that didn’t seem to be the case.

That said, the staff was very friendly, and I still had a good round and enjoyed spending time with friends. Hopefully the conditions improve, because the layout itself has a lot of potential.

I was very impressed with the course from the bag drop to the bag pick up at the end of the round. Beautiful layout nice topography around the course. Generous fairways maybe helped me not dislike this course. Greens very well maintained. Would love it more if they had Tucson prices. :) Condition-wise, I would recommend to "mulch" the sand in the traps. Exceptionally hard - but that could have been to recent rains and they didn't have time to do that over the Christmas holidays. Would like to play again.

I cannot say it enough how disappointed I am in this course, especially when you are charging 140. We played at 9:53 and 50% of the bunkers were muddy and had standing water in them! It did not rain the previous day so no reason for that being the case. And the fairways were so saturated that are balls plugged all the time and had to clean our ball off between every shot.

Went to the pro shop to let them know and all he said was "Oh I haven't heard a complaint like that at all" completely dismissed what we said, when all they had to do was get one of the marshalls that kept bothering us for being a hole behind (when no one was behind or in front of us) to check the bunkers and they would have seen what we were talking about.

Not worth paying 140 dollars at all! Would have been ok paying 80-90 but 140 you have to be in top shape and it was not even close to that. Will NEVER PLAY THIS COURSE AGAIN!

We love Estrella and enjoyed our golf there this week. However a majority of the bunkers either had water or heavy wet sand in them. And a number of fairways were also wet. Not sure if there is an irrigation issue.

Played course after they allowed to come off cartpath only. Bunkers horrible, rock filled, need sand. Range was muddy, soggy, very run down. Greens were water logged and too soft but ran okay. Pace of play was close to 5+ hours which is unacceptable. Food pretty good at turn, staff friendly, helpful. Overall Troon is not reinvesting back into this property.
