About
Golf Club of Estrella is the very first golf course on a daily-fee basis to be designed by Jack Nicklaus II in Phoenix, where it makes its home in the master-planned community Estrella, and offers 18 holes of par-72 championship golf over 7,102 unique yards. The many tests of the golf course will impress every level of golfer - though a choice of tee sets ensures no one will get in over his or her head. Desert and wash spaces require golfers to vary their shots while they take in vistas from the fairways shaped to the contour of the land and framed in the Sierra Estrella Mountains.
A round of golf at the Golf Club Estrella kicks off on Morning Star, a par 4 that measures 359 yards from the black tees. If you stick to the black tees, you'll need to conserve your energy for The Arroyo, the 16th hole, a par 5 that measures 605 yards. After that, Evening Star, the 18th hole, will be a relative breeze, at par 4 and just 437 yards from the black teees.
Once the round of golf at the Golf Club of Estrella is over, head back to the Player's Grill Restaurant for American pub fare and Southwestern snacks.

Beautiful course
The only downside was that the threesome I was supposed to be playing with were late and I got sent off on my own, sandwiched between four somes. Had to wait 5-10 minutes for every shot. Also only saw the cart girl on hole 4 and never saw her again. I ran out of water on the 15th hole. Very fast greens, that rolled pretty true. My patty melt for lunch was the bomb!!

A great desert course worth to drive out to it! Go play it!
Estrella a great course
Estrella is a great layout and was in great condition when we played. Only one complaint, always the same, the bunkers are never good. Really bad sand.
Great course
Love this course. Very challenging with all the bunker placement and distance from Gold tees. The only issue was the condition of bunkers as the sand is like concrete and hard to get under the ball for any decent out vs other courses nearby. Loved the computers on carts to help with shot selection!! I’ll absolutely play this course again.
Hidden Gem
From arrival and thru the 19th hole the experience was top notch, very professional and friendly staff. Course was very scenic and player friendly with generous fairways. The only negative is the bunkers need a lot of work sand was sparse and lots of rocks would rate the whole experience a 9 out of 10 due the the bunkers
Butter path
I enjoyed the course BUT my timing was poor in that it was cart path only due to overseeding. Sux for me but I did get extra steps in for the day so I guess that’s good. It’s been probably 15 years since I’ve played it so there are more houses on the course. But I still recommend playing it.
Invest in sand
Course is great except bunkers- hard packed mud, no sand.
Okay was a bit slow
Tee off at 11:19 and didn’t finish till4:04 so was a bit over 41/2 and wasn’t paired up with anyone so was a long wait on every tee. Had fun but was pretty hit by end of round
