Golf Club of Estrella is the very first golf course on a daily-fee basis to be designed by Jack Nicklaus II in Phoenix, where it makes its home in the master-planned community Estrella, and offers 18 holes of par-72 championship golf over 7,102 unique yards. The many tests of the golf course will impress every level of golfer - though a choice of tee sets ensures no one will get in over his or her head. Desert and wash spaces require golfers to vary their shots while they take in vistas from the fairways shaped to the contour of the land and framed in the Sierra Estrella Mountains.

A round of golf at the Golf Club Estrella kicks off on Morning Star, a par 4 that measures 359 yards from the black tees. If you stick to the black tees, you'll need to conserve your energy for The Arroyo, the 16th hole, a par 5 that measures 605 yards. After that, Evening Star, the 18th hole, will be a relative breeze, at par 4 and just 437 yards from the black teees.

Once the round of golf at the Golf Club of Estrella is over, head back to the Player's Grill Restaurant for American pub fare and Southwestern snacks.

Horrible Experience

The course is in rough condition. Every green is pitted out and the bunkers are equivalent to hardened clay. Played 3 other courses over the course of the week and this was the only one in bad shape and was also the most expensive which is a bad combo.

One of our Carts ended up dying on the back 9 and the staff was completely indifferent about the whole situation. One of them even said, “hopefully enough people complain so they finally fix the course”.

Would not recommend this course. By the far the worst Troon course I’ve played.

Great layout and grasses condition, sand traps poor

What a layout.! So fun to play. Beautiful views. All but sand traps and some tee boxes in really good condition. Sand in traps is poor.

Very nice setting

There was lots of rain the night before, so it was cartpath only throughout the entire course, which, in my opinion wasn’t necessary, should have use the 90° rule

Could not use any of the bunkers as they were all full of water

The rates should’ve been reduced for the course conditions Otherwise a beautiful setting

Great course…….

Course in good shape, staff great, pace of play great. Fairway great. Greens………bumpy and most had problem areas. If it were not for all the problem areas (bare dirt) I would have said nothing about bumpy greens due to the rain it had just received.. I would play again it just seems for that price things should be fairly close to great shape is all, just can’t put the 5 star

Great views

Scenic course, difficult and slow pace of play. Bunkers are very deep and basically hard pan . Warm up was awkward. Needed a shuttle to the driving range. Solid overall

Greens and bunkers need help

Love the layout of this course and tee box views. Sand traps had no sand and Greens were very slow. Fix those two things and you’ve got a top notch AZ golf course!

Not nearly as good as it once was...

We played here two years ago and it was in much better shape then.

They need to replace their carts, get some GPS and get the greens right. The layout of this course is great. It just looks tired and over played. They have raised thier rates by 40%. The restaurant doesn't open until 11am and is tiny.

Nice course, ok conditions

For a course charging on the higher end, the sand traps (and there were a lot of them) are in terrible condition. There’s no sand. A lot of “muddy” stuff, but nothing I’ve seen before.
