Golf Club of Estrella is the very first golf course on a daily-fee basis to be designed by Jack Nicklaus II in Phoenix, where it makes its home in the master-planned community Estrella, and offers 18 holes of par-72 championship golf over 7,102 unique yards. The many tests of the golf course will impress every level of golfer - though a choice of tee sets ensures no one will get in over his or her head. Desert and wash spaces require golfers to vary their shots while they take in vistas from the fairways shaped to the contour of the land and framed in the Sierra Estrella Mountains.

A round of golf at the Golf Club Estrella kicks off on Morning Star, a par 4 that measures 359 yards from the black tees. If you stick to the black tees, you'll need to conserve your energy for The Arroyo, the 16th hole, a par 5 that measures 605 yards. After that, Evening Star, the 18th hole, will be a relative breeze, at par 4 and just 437 yards from the black teees.

Once the round of golf at the Golf Club of Estrella is over, head back to the Player's Grill Restaurant for American pub fare and Southwestern snacks.

New Years Eve Round

Had a great day at Estrella though cart path only due to the recent rains. Found the fairways a bit wet, more than just the rain, I believe they are still using too much water. Traps still need a bit of work, though understand with new owners that they are continuing making improvements.

LAyout of the course is great, greens ran pretty fast once it dried out a bit. With improvements made will definitely readd to my future rounds.

Estrella golf

Beautiful course, but interesting point, the Saguaro cactus which were plentiful appeared to be suffering (greyish rather than green). Haven't observed that before. Sand traps need considerable maintenance. Staff was great, fairways and tee boxes in good shape.

Only found a few wet spots. Fairways manicured. Sand traps cared for. No bare spots on fairways or greens. Course personnel knowledgeable and helpful. Great day golfing. A must play

Good course, exceptionally unfriendly staff across the board

Staff here absolutely couldn’t be bothered. Pro shop was ambivalent at best and personnel in the F&B was downright hostile as hours of operation were vague. On course beverage cart were great though. Starter and outside golf staff have never heard the term hospitality. Maybe it falls on Troon Golf, but a course that is this far off the beaten path? I will never go back…

Jeff

Great course with many sets of tees, great greens, and pace of play is always good. Played many times, sometimes 9, but mostly 18 holes. Great West Valley course.

Fun course

Fun layout and the non overseeded greens rolled great. Fairways and tee boxes were in very good shape. The course has some fantastic bunkering throughout the course but the condition of those bunkers were awful. We pretty much played all bunkers as ground under repair.

Great golf

Chilly morning out as single. Course in great shape. Greens running well and true With fairways grown in from overseeding Flew through front nine then hit a crowd on the backside but still finished in 4 hrs. Beverages cart was around plenty and saw Marshall a few times as well moving things along. Fun day !

Very nice course. Played with my wife (28 handicap) thought the course was to difficult.

From Minnesota and if I return to Phoenix, I would definitely play it again.

Fun course no management pace

The course is great. Conditions were good but 5 hours and 20 minutes is unacceptable and the rangers reason was it was busy. That’s a really poor reason. It’s his job to manage pace of play and he obviously sucks at it. Won’t play a mid day round there again.

5 hour round !!! All about the money I guess…!

Greeting unfriendly… waiting too long at holes, sometimes 10 minutes. 3 groups on a tee box. Not too good. Spoke with Marshall and asked why the delay. His response was “ well we got 200 golfers out here today “ I said why didn’t you spread out the tee times more. Not a good answer to our group. All sand traps were unplayable! Course was really wet over watered. Our tee time was 11:15.

They need to re-think their policies and let paying golfers know by email or text when course conditions are this bad.

Probably not play here again as too many other better courses in Phoenix.

Regards, Wayne

Cart path

When a course is too wet and requires cart paths only customers should be compensated in some form. Senior golfers find it difficult to walk as much as you need to on this course. The hefty price charged for the golf doesn’t include all the walking.
