Golf Club of Estrella is the very first golf course on a daily-fee basis to be designed by Jack Nicklaus II in Phoenix, where it makes its home in the master-planned community Estrella, and offers 18 holes of par-72 championship golf over 7,102 unique yards. The many tests of the golf course will impress every level of golfer - though a choice of tee sets ensures no one will get in over his or her head. Desert and wash spaces require golfers to vary their shots while they take in vistas from the fairways shaped to the contour of the land and framed in the Sierra Estrella Mountains.

A round of golf at the Golf Club Estrella kicks off on Morning Star, a par 4 that measures 359 yards from the black tees. If you stick to the black tees, you'll need to conserve your energy for The Arroyo, the 16th hole, a par 5 that measures 605 yards. After that, Evening Star, the 18th hole, will be a relative breeze, at par 4 and just 437 yards from the black teees.

Once the round of golf at the Golf Club of Estrella is over, head back to the Player's Grill Restaurant for American pub fare and Southwestern snacks.

Course layout

Greens had been punched and sanded for aeration, but were true and ball rolled well. Fairways green and in great shape.

Price was amazing and can’t wait to go back

Better

Course is in better shape than last summer. Greens very slow and sandy but they looked like they'd been punched in the last week or two. They rolled well enough to not detract too much. Bunkers are basically concrete with an occasional rock at this point. If you can play for less than 20 or 30 bucks (summer) the layout is worth the trip despite the lackluster conditions.

Good layout with nice views. Greens are undulating, pretty fast, and in very good condition. Fairways and tee boxes are showing stress but still not bad for summer.

Overall a good round of golf.

West Valley Gem

Would play here again and again and again. Not your typical desert course, greens were fantastic. Staff just as good. A must play for anyone that enjoys fair desert courses.

A great value and good track!

I love this course. Nicklaus design allows for some room to hit your Driver. The greens were a bit spongy, but maybe due to high heat we experience in Summer. However, they rolled well. The fairways were in good shape, but the bunkers were a bit thin and crusty. As far as a value, this is well worth the drive, which thanks to the 303 make it a bit easier.

Unreal value, great conditions

Amazing conditions compared to the other courses in the west valley. Greens were perfect and rolled true. Fun layout with really good views. The best $40 I have ever spent, I would pay double to play again

Holy sand traps, Batman

Played the front nine and had a great time. A few dry spots (though it IS June in Arizona) but overall the greens were like carpet and the fairways we're pretty well kept up. I just wasn't prepared for the sand traps. Lots and lots of sand traps.

Greens were slower than I expected and tough to read.

The staff was great

The traps were dry/hard but then again the objective is stay out of them anyway.

Spped of play was good though the foursome in front of us became a fivesome.

The beauty of the mountains, desert areas and greenery were postcard picture worthy.

Good time

The bunkers were a nightmare. Like hitting off of concrete. I guess if you stay out of the bunkers it was great.

Fringe and Fairways Work in Progress

Check in easy, very friendly staff. Starter also friendly. Pace was fine at 4:15. Greens consistent but we’re a little slow for my preference. Most fringes 20% bare and being worked on. Some fairways with similar issues. Like the layout and the course. Was a good value.
