Raven Golf Club - Phoenix
About
Raven Golf Club - Phoenix features a one-of-a-kind round of desert golf. Its fairways are lined with Georgia pine, and its greens have more tiers than one - the kind of golf course that only Gary Panks and David Graham could imagine, and a can't-miss on your next golf trip to Phoenix. Over the ages, the golf club has garnered all sorts of recognition.
The layout features plush, rolling fairways framed by thousands of mature trees, as well as vistas of rugged desert mountains and the Phoenix skyline. The golf course's flexible, strategic design offers a challenge for all players, and the variety it presents will give you the opportunity to use nearly every club in your bag.
That said, the Raven Golf Club - Phoenix might be the perfect place to turn a business trip to Phoenix into a golf trip to Phoenix - it's handy to Sky Harbor Airport and downtown Phoenix.

Beautiful track!
Not a typical Arizona target course. Lots of green grass and open fairways. Fun to play with lots of established trees.
Unique layout, outstanding staff!
BLUF: highly recommend this course! best welcome from the cart/bag drop guy in recent memory, pro shop, restaurant service, beverage cart girls, starter.....ALL were 5 stars --- and i am a stickler for customer service. As for the course, a very unique track with lots of mounds and thousands of trees....tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers are in great shape and the greens were perfect and rolling true. The only downside was all of the areas you don't play in....lots of dead shrubs and weeds all over....which i would think could be cleaned up in less than 3 days but oh well, everything else was great!
Perfect
Everything was perfect. The weather, the price, the staff, The Challenge and layout of the course and the two guys I was paired up with
My Favorite Course
With my Arcis Prime membership, at $45 per round, this has become my favorite course. The course is always picture perfect, the staff are always friendly and accommodating, and the pace of play is exceptional. Played twice over the Easter weekend in 4 hours, 5 minutes, and 3 hours, 15 minutes as a 2-some on Monday morning where we caught up with a foursome on the back nine, but still finished the back in 2 hours. it's a 30 minute drive for me, but worth it.
Marshall is needed
starter was terrific but no on course marshall who was needed to control the actions of the group that was behind us. They drove carts around greens well past the no cart signs, hit the ball very wild without yelling fore, in fact hit the ball from one hold onto the next tee that we were on without any warning, then did not acknowledge that they did anything else. We will return but hopefully not the same day that the yahoos that followed us return
Always a great time at the Raven
If you can do yourself and book a round here you won’t be disappointed!!!! Great staff course and practice facility
Impressive
From the staff (everyone to include Cart Lady) was nothing less than superb. Course was in great condition.
If you have to make a choice, and can only play one course (between Raven and collocated Legacy - both of which are great tracks) — Go Raven. You will not be disappointed.
Way overpriced
For $143 you'd think you'd get sand in the traps and see the odd ball washer. Not here.
Play was very slow and the marshal knew who the problem group was but did nothing about it. He said they paid a lot to golf and wouldn't move them up. All of the people they were holding up paid a lot too, but that point was lost on him.
Best of the Local Arcis Courses
Absolutely love this course! I was reluctant to make the drive at first - a little over 30 minutes, but now my favorite course, especially with the Arcis Prime membership. Definitely with the drive.
Lovely course but ..........
Lovely first impressions as you drive in - the 18th hole pond, practice area, green fairways, nice greens, nice layout. But an experienced eye see’s a few issues. First the bunkers - there is no sand, seriously none! I bring some old beater clubs to play out of their bunkers. Not scratching my beauties. Their bunkers are basically waste areas - that’s ok 200 yards out but green side? Inexcusable! I believe a bunker is a sand filled hazard. Here hard packed dirt and pea gravel. Secondly noticing a general decline in aesthetics on fringes of fairways. My playing partner found his ball just feet off a fairway under a dead tree that looks to have been there for years. Lots of deadfall/refuse everywhere. Hundreds of dead shrubs and bushes everywhere. With the amount of rain this winter these bushes are obviously dying or dead. Get some trucks and workers out to clean this stuff up and cart away. And they have very recently cut down some trees with chainsaws as numerous piles of logs sitting just off fairways. Again my playing partner right up against one pile. Starting to look like ASU Karsten where areas between fairways are basically refuse dumps. Come on Raven - there’s more to maintenance than watering fairways and greens and cutting grass. Show some pride in your property - get some sand, clean up your course. For $100+ golfers should expect more.
Spend your money somewhere else
Very poor - non existent greeting at the bag drop , basically look after yourself , very confusing getting a golf cart , even though they have your name and time on them the starter was putting the wrong people on carts and then trying to get more carts for the people who seemingly already had a cart had he not messed with it .He was catering to an Asian woman who was there with three guests but not on the tee sheet , perhaps a member because she was the priority getting carts and getting to play with no tee time .
The fairways and the scenery are the best thing here , the tee blocks were uneven , long and had many divots . One of the two local men we played with told us jokingly that the greens had hail damage , this because there were so many unrepaired ball marks that the greens looked like someone had taken a machine gun to them , the effect was that it was like putting on freshly aerated greens with putts bouncing off line .
This should be about a $40.00 course . Quite disappointing !
Horrible experience
I never write reviews. I am actually writing this mid round. Because I have so much time waiting between shots.. There of course is no Marshall to help the situation. The course is beautiful but the traps are horrible...they are dirt and good luck finding a rake. The greens roll true. We got paired with a guy “trying to make the tour”. He quit after 4 holes because he ran out of golf balls. He had no business being out here, again no Marshall to police the situation. If you enjoy slow play, waiting 5-10 minutes between shots. Bunkers which will ruin your clubs, this is the spot for you...
Eldonfrom PEI
Great layout and in good condition except for sand traps very little sand will be back thanks
