No cars available
Red course in great shape. Fairways easy to hit from and greens slower than normal. Will play course again.
However, our foursome was not allowed to get a cart for a disabled person who wanted to ride with his son. We were told there were no carts available- even though we saw several waiting by the starter on the red course ( even though we offered to pay). Thought this policy is very poor and does not represent fair treatment for disabled people). We were required to take turns walking a hole at a time or standing on the back of a cart). This was extremely hard getting to the red course from the clubhouse.
In addition, we saw no detour signs to the course due to road construction- poor.
Given all the above, we still enjoyed playing the course and recommend this course. Improvements in directions and policy would make it even better.
Course is in good shape
The course is in good condition. Tee boxes could use a little TLC; fairways were good; sand traps could use a little more sand; first-cut rough was OK, whereas balance was sparse in places; greens were firm and lush, however they were very slow. Pace was good (3:50), as was value. Combine all that with a beautiful spring day and it was a very good day, indeed.
the course was in very good shape. would play here again
Love this course. Forgiving layout and fun to play. Pace of play was surprisingly great. Played 18 in 3.5 hours. Only negative was the greens. Very slow and inconsistent speeds from green to green
Love this layout
hadn’t played here in nearly 5 years and the conditions of the course were far superior today than back then. I’ve always enjoyed the layout and design of a Course. I will be putting it back on my regular play rotation!
Cold and misty but worth it!
Greens: very consistent. Pretty good shape but we’re slow due to dampness. A few bare spots. Pin location was fair.
Fairways: in very good shape but a few areas that were bare. Couple of area with ground under repair. If you were in the fairway, you were rewarded with a good lie. First cut of rough was nice and green too. Rest of rough was full of weeds and hard to swing through.
Staff: friendly and welcoming
Pace of play: Fantastic due to rain. If was cold so there were very few people on the course.
I would recommend this course.!
Better than the past
Troon just took this course over this year and I am excited to see the changes already. Green although slow we’re is great shape. Tee boxes and fairways were also on the mend. Give Troon one full year sans I am excited to see this become the next Poston like course. Well done!!
Great if you just want to enjoy sceneries
I always enjoy golf whereever i play. The scenery is why i like this course. However, this course is not for beginners. Sometimes, back ups are expected, but the back nine was tough. Should have finished in four hours. Gave up because it was too dark. I got pushed back due to rearrangement of the tee times and was assured i would finish in time. That did not happen. Will think twice about booking this place again.
Marshal?
The group in front of us was playing slowly. On 11, we asked to play through. We did not catch the group that had been in front of them until 17. We did not see a marshal at anytime. If we hadn't played through, it would have been a 6+ hour round and we would not have finished before dark.
