Foothills Golf Club

I live near this course and have played it 4 or 5 times in the last three years. The greens and fairways are kept nice and it is a nice challenging course. It didn’t get the 5th star because the surrounding fences really make the place feel dilapidated. I feel like this is probably the HOA’s failure but it does take away from the overall sheen of the course. Also-there was no food at the turn when I played (afternoon tee time) which was disappointing. Overall still quite enjoyable and I will return.

Pretty decent course and value. I’ve heard it’s under new management which is a post I’ve sign and LOTS of room of improvement, but the bones are there. Great location and layout. Tee boxes and fairways were great. Green in good condition but needed a hair cut BADLY. Spongy and a bit slow. This course will be in my list for the summer and into next winter. Solid value course that’s hopefully on the mend.

Only note, clubhouse TOTALLY shuts down at about 4pm. Lights off and doors locked. ZERO outside water except for jugs they put out in course. Not even a water fountain at the club house. Only staff on site after check in were two 16 y.o. Cart boys that really had no clue what was going on. Need more clarification at front desk about water and close up time.

The course was in great condition and offers beautiful mountain views. It would be nice to have more of a restaurant & bar atmosphere to stay and relax after a round while enjoying the views. Overall a great experience.

Greens: outstanding shape. Putted slow but we’re very consistent.

Fairways: groomed very well. Very consistent.

Rough: a little dry but still fair. Easy to find ball if you went out of the fairway.

Staff: they were great. Friendly and welcoming

The course was in pretty stellar condition, props to the very skilled greens keepers, but the starter and snack attendant were definitely a bit odd. The starter called my playing partner and I (as well as the two we were paired with) off the range ten full minutes before our start time, saying that if we didn’t go now, he would need to start sending other groups out instead. We thought it was odd, but didn’t want to cause a fuss so we agreed and left the majority of our range balls and headed to the first hole, only to be stopped by the starter at the snack shop because we were waiting for the group ahead of us to tee off. So it seemed as though he had sent the other group out anyway. Now completely mind-blown as to why we were called off the range, we sat and listened to the starter and snack attendant pitch us all of their wares. The cherry on top of the interaction was that they ended up insulting us for not buying a box of ProV-1’s from them, saying we were “definitely more the TopFlite type”. It definitely seemed rehearsed, and it definitely didn’t land. Oh well, can’t win ‘em all, and the course ended up being a lot of fun.

Course is in good shape, however greens are slow and some are at a different pace. Thought it would have been better considering the ownership change, but not so far. $50 a round is ridiculous for this time of year. Course was almost empty. Why the prices are still hgih when there is so little traffic is bewildering.

First time playing this course. Would have given it 5 stars if not for the conditions of the bunkers. Were told that new management is making improvements. Otherwise, nice, not too challenging layout. The greens were kinda slow but it wasn't a big deal. The fairways were gorgeous. Would definitely play and recommend!

What do you pay Marshall's for if they don't do anything but ride around and look for balls. Would not play here again! The course was in poor shape and the pi. setter is new....all the holes were raised and not flush!

Not a bad track. It is in rough shape in some spots, but fairways, tee boxes and greens weren’t too bad at all. We teed off at 10 am and finished in under 4 hours. Greens were a bit furry in spots and were a bit inconsistent, but certainly puttable. My wife and I enjoyed our round and we have no hesitation in recommending this course.

Having a cough holiday in Phoenix is a heaven. There are so many courses to choose, and we choose this one..

The course, layout and design was extremely interesting not to mention the nice surroundings and serenity of the location.

A true desert golf course, truly nice greens, and the bunkers placed exactly where you land your ball.

Highly recommended to test your skills.
