About
Foothills Golf Club offers 18 holes of golf on a golf course designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf and built in 1988. The par-72 golf course measures 6,901 yards. Foothills Golf Club sits among the South Mountains, and features a contrast of challenge and forgiveness on a links-style course that allows golfers to play a target layout that has more than 65 bunkers that daunt, fairways that roll and desert that has a lot of rocks. The fabulous championship golf course provides the locale for all levels of golfer to shoot a memorable day of golf.
After taking in the views of the South Mountains on the Foothills Golf Club's golf course, head back to the clubhouse, for wonderful vistas of the course and the Estrella Mountain Range.

Strong Muni Vibes
The fairways are fine, in decent shape, and the layout is really interesting, with the exception of tee boxes that have humps in the middle of them. Everything else reeks of a municipal course that had its budget cut. It you are off the fairway, there’s a better than even chance that you will be playing off bare dirt. No real landscaping to speak of and they were obviously doing work because there was heavy equipment out in various places. The course was just not attractive, with peeling paint on the retaining walls, and unattractive desert areas.
I didn’t mind the gas powered carts as much as some reviewers, but charging 10 bucks for a bucket of balls and no GPS was no bueno!
If I had paid full price, I would’ve said it wasn’t worth it, but for the discount it was fine. The staff was top-notch, very friendly and welcoming!!
This course could be a jewel, and perhaps they plan to continue working on it. Would play again in a year or so see if it improves.

Great layout
Course in really good shape greens roll pretty good a little grainy but overall good shape.

Frost Delay
We learned of a frost delay once we arrived at the starter’s window … about a 25 minute delayed start. This can happen this time of year. Driving range with mats is OK; however, there needs to be holes for tees when using the driver. Practice putting green was much slower than those of course. Tee boxes were crowned; fairways in very good shape; rough was very rough (needs some TLC); sand traps were in good condition; greens were mid-speed and bumpy, with lip of some cups uneven, making it somewhat unfair and something that should be corrected. Pace was OK (4:20) given the frost delay. Value of course was good, noting the outrageous fees most other courses are seeking (given the many non-AZ visitors to the Barrett-Jackson car auction, WM Phoenix Open and Superbowl).

Love course... but needs some work
Played a lot at Foothills before losing player card access with new ownership a few months ago. Got a good deal on golf now to play, but really slow. Played front 9 twice in order to get in 18 before dark. Greens pretty good, but a bit bumpy. Can't beat view for price if get a deal. Can't pay $100+ although for this time of year unfortunately not out of line.

Excellent Golf Course
The greens and fairways were awesome shape. The layout of the golf course was challenging, but rewarding if you made good shots. However, if you didn't hit the fairways, your next shot will be a difficult one. I enjoyed my round I would recommend it to any of my friends
