About
The executive golf course at Mountain Shadows Golf Club in addition to being an excellent course has the added benefit of having a picturesque location nestled in the foothills of Camelback Mountain, and it also offers views of the equally majestic Mummy Mountains. The oleanders and palm trees sprinkled throughout the course enhance the pleasant atmosphere. The golf course's 18th hole boasts beautiful views of the sunset during the twilight hours but the signature hole is the par-3 12th hole. It plays uphill toward Camelback Mountain and over a pond and brook to a double-tiered green that is well protected by bunkers.

Tough Par 3 Course
The new course layout was excellent. Totally different from the last time we played in 01/15.
Although the grass around the greens was somewhat long, it proved to be a challenge. The greens were quite fast and I don't think there were any level areas of the greens.A couple of the greens were a little unfair as far as sloping was concerned. The shared green on 13 & 14 with the sand trap in the middle of the green was very unique. We came to work on our short game and definitely had some challenges. Would definitely would play again and recommend it to anyone.
Great Par 3 test
My wife and I played this course on Christmas Day as a present for ourselves. It’s a great course in spectacular condition with tricky but true greens
Never again
Highly rated Par 3 course for some holiday golf?
Not exactly. Tricked up greens, high high rough, indifferentbservice and bad burger at the end.
Wait, there’s more. People walked their dog on the course and another person just st out for a walk on the course. The only thong missing was a windmill and a clown. Played on Christmas Eve and Christmas, but never again. The greens were design to penalize you and long rough that would be appropriate for the US Open. Not fun and I was 3 over on the back 9.
Can not recommend and will not be back

Horrible Customer Service!!
Booked two on GolfNow but the course only had me scheduled for one. While at the course the other slot was still available so I figured I’d just book it but they would not allow me to and told me I’d have to pay the rack rate of double the price I had booked for. Paying almost $70 for an executive course is ridiculous, especially when it was available in GN for half the rate! And the attitude by one of the guys (one guy was very nice) in the pro shop was uncalled for!!

Beautiful course with challenging greens
It is a challenging par 3 course in an attractive setting. The greens have many contours and slopes. The rough is about 3" deep and very thick. It is easy to loose your ball when it settles down in the rough. My only complaint is the greens were cut so short there were bare spots on many greens. Also there were areas of bare soil on the sides of tee blocks and were very slippery when wet.Both my wife and I slipped and fell on the mud while leaving the first tee but we were not hurt and able to finish our round.

Good course for a family
Unfortunately I have not noticed it was a par 3 only golf course. It is good for a family time but not for golfers. Very nice views through the course. It is not even suitable as a short game practice since some of the greens are ridiculous with huge hills and valleys.
Thank you for your feedback. It is a very different golf experience being all par 3's with interesting greens. Both new golfers and experienced golfers have enjoyed the fun and fast round. We're in Paradise Valley / Scottsdale area with the best views in town.

What an amazing transformation
We were blown away at the changes, it is beautiful. We did have trouble finding the course with all the new admissions to the resort areas. Finally spoke with gate attendant....found small sign to get to the course.
Staff are the best, carts are excellent. The course is manicured perfectly. Really enjoyed golfing at Mountain Shadows once more

Always a Good Tuneup Venue
The Short Course is just that, with only par 3s - a change from years past. The course plays shorter and easier, the result of development in the area, but it's no pushover. The greens are tricky, with lots of slope, and the rough (at least in November) is lush and thick. Indeed, anything on the green is no guarantee of par.
Pace can be an issue - I was behind a slow couple and lost an hour overall waiting on them on every hole.
Thank you for the feedback. We're a fun, fast round with interesting greens and great view. Typical rounds are 2.5 to 3 hours max. Still much quicker than a regulation course.
Fun course!
Short course was in great shape and I was impressed with the fast play. All holes were par 3 and with the undulating greens presented a very pleasant challenge! Had so much fun we played 36 holes in just about 31/2 hrs!

I felt scammed. There was insufficient notice that this was a par 3 course!!! Only the word "executive" which I didn't see. You should have more prominent wording
We describe the course with the word executive, Par 54, and our yardage of a 2,310 yard course. We're a fun, fast course with the best view in town. Plenty of challenge and you can finish in 2.5 hours.
Hit my first hole in one on the 14th.

Great Fun!
The course is a lot of fun...the views are great and the staff are absolutely a joy to be around. The short course, with betting hole 17 1/2 is a great wedge and short iron test. The greens weren't great coming out of overseed but I've played here before when they're fantastic. Food is really good and the entire property is wonderful!
