The Phoenician Golf Club
About
The Phoenician Golf Club reopened in the fall of 2018 after a massive redesign and renovation by Scottsdale-based architect Phil Smith. The new 18-hole layout replaces the original 27-hole routing. Every hole is new, featuring TifEagle grass greens and tees, fairways and rough that are 419 Bermuda grass. The golf shop has been expanded as well, and the Club Car golf carts have been outfitted with the "Shark Experience" - a new golf technology with a high-definition touch screen and built-in speakers for playing music and watching live sports, news and entertainment, along with GPS yardage.

Awesome
awesome from the cashier to the starter everyone was absolutely awesome! I love this course!
Nearly Perfect
I am a local and played this on a weekday as a single. Starter was very friendly and helpful. The Canyon course is in much better shape this time of year but the Desert course was still good.
My only complaint was that the water fountains were mostly warm. They do give you 2 bottles of water which is good but when it's 115* degrees out, access to cold water shouldn't be an inconvenience.
good resort course
We play this course often in the summer when the rates are lower. It's always in good condition and the elevation changes make it quite a challenge.
John Kim
It was great overall but the distance was very short.
great views and conditioned course
Played the desert/canyon rotation. Very playable and great conditions. Fairways beautiful and greens fast and undulating. Awesome awesome views of the camelback mountains and surrounding Scottsdale, Phoenix.
Very friendly tees for ladies player. My wife who does not hit it long had wonderful time.
Only negative was when we finished round and brought our cart back we like to take our clubs and leave. My wife heard one of the golf staff say to his fellow staff member'told you so' . Ended on sour note as we didnt ask for cleaning of clubs and staff shouldnt expect tip and talk negative about guest.
Disappointed...
I expected more from one of the premier resorts in Phoenix. I have played all over the valley, and I finally made it our to the Phoenician when the prices dropped for summer.
I understand it is summer, but I shouldn't have to PUTT through ground under repair on your greens if I'm playing at a resort. I expect that from lesser courses, but not from the Phoenician. Fairways had ground under repair, rough had ground under repair, greens had ground under repairs. It was like I was playing a course in California during a severe drought. You are charging $10 for a hotdog and $8 for a beer, spend the money on water and get this course where it should be. I played Keirland last week and it was immaculate, like a resort course should be. Gold canyon, whirlwind, Troon North, and WigWam are all in much better shape right now than the Phoenician.
EXCELLENT!!!
Course was in great condition! Holes were beautiful and had numerous elevation changes. Views were SPECTACULAR!!! I will definitely go back. Also got see Rickie Fowler up close and personal on the range!
Awesome course
Sweet resort and course. Greens were not in the best condition. Other than that great place
Meh
Course was slow, greens were slow and furry, I played the tips and multiple holes were missing tee markers. Wide open short course, easy to play and score.
27 holes of exquisite beauty
Course was interesting ,fun and beautifully manicured. Every square inch of real estate on the course was in excellent shape from the greens to bunkers to fairways and even in waste areas. you could tell human hands had touched every space. Layout was interesting with great views of the area. Thank you Golf now for getting a good rate for us to play!
Beautiful Scenery
This course has many scenic holes and we enjoyed the day. The course conditions were great and we were paired with a single who was fun to play with. There were a couple of quirky routes to some of the holes with long and somewhat confusing cart rides to the tee boxes. Fortunately the person we played with knew the course. It is a tough course, especially when it is windy. We played the first 12 or 13 holes in calm conditions and then the wind started blowing hard. It was well worth playing though and we would play it again.
One of the better courses for the money
We have a Trincard and play this course frequently. It's one of the better courses in the city and the prices very good especially as it warms up in the summer. We have played all three oasis Canyon and desert courses. There is wide variety and the course is kept in very good condition. The staff is exceptionally friendly. The cart girls are nice but the prices on the cart are way out of whack . Otherwise it's a great place to play and I highly recommend.
Andy Stevenson
This is a beautiful golf track I did not realise I was so close to the base of Camelback ! stunning views probably the best in Phx great staff even better bar outside !!
And Relish the burger joint hit it out the Park !!!
Great course Excellent features
This course is excellent fantastic views and is in great shape
2nd time around!!
I played this course in 2014 (May) found it to be a top notch golf course. Really enjoyed the experience, challenge, and course conditions. Now in May 2015 wanted to try my luck again. Found it to be no different. Equally as good as 2014. Highly recommend it.
Outstanding course
Played the Desert & Canyon courses. Desert much more target oriented and Canyon more open. Both in tremendous shape. I struggled on the undulated greens and couldn't seem to get my roll right. Definitely not a complaint, I can't wait to play again now that I have some course knowledge. Mid teen handicappers like me playing for first time need to be conservative and smart about shots especially on the Desert course.
Great views
Outstanding vistas. Not to hard to play. Some tricky greens on Canyon 3 par 3's on canyon makes you feel like you shot a low scora
Great course
Course is in excellent condition would play again. Very challenging great views.
Beautiful AZ weather, fabulous course conditions.
While I'd played The Phoenician many years prior, it was a delight to have the opportunity while on vacation. Courses in outstanding condition, staff very accommodating, views an added bonus. Pro Shop also a nice stop after finishing our round.
Good clean fun!
Great track, good fun, range included can recommend this course while in Scottsdale! We'll be back!"
