Great Eagle Golf Club
About
Great Eagle Golf Club, rated one of the most affordable golf courses in Arizona, is a championship course in the West Valley. Although it has a traditional design there are several unique and challenging elements that come into play such as undulating mounds that cause uneven lies and well-guarded greens. Water hazards also come into play on four holes. The golf course offers three sets of tee boxes so that there is some flexibility regarding levels of challenge, but overall the course is suitable for any player. The Great Eagle Golf Club, in addition to the course, also offers both a chipping green and a putting green.

Tee Box, Fairways and greens are in good shape!
Tee Box, Fairways and green are in good shape! The course is in good condition after they have completed the over seeding. Most sand bunkers are in good condition. Course can be challenging since it has many Grass and Sand bunkers but we had a great time. I would of given this course a 4 star but due to the cart path in fair condition can use upgrading and better direction signs to the next hole might help as well.
the eagle
They have made some positive with this course. A lot better job of overseeding, yet not worth the increasein geenfees. all courses are now overpriced.
Nice change
The greens, tee boxes, fairways and all the surroundings were green an tight. Niceeee
Good course for the price
I enjoyed playing the course. As previous reviewers stated the cart paths are terrible. Bunkers had inconsistent amounts of sand in them. Tee boxes were ok. Greens were in good condition and had consistent speed. Fairways were for the most part good. The course has some blemishes and needs some love but the layout is good and was fun to play. If you want perfect conditions then this is not your course. Go play Troon or Boulders but you won’t play them for $45. If you want to have fun for a great price I recommend this course.
Great greens
Very impressed with the greens. They have been getting better the last few years. If you are accurate with your tee shots, you will enjoy this course.
Nice Public Course
Sure wish there were breakfast offerings for early morning tee times. Coffee and a breakfast sandwich would be great!
Beverage cart
We were disappointed that there was no beverage cart out on the course. It was a warm day and beverages would have been appreciated. Actually, this course and Traditions are the only courses we’ve played, that doesn’t have a cart out regularly.
Bumpy Path to Unexpected Gem
Heading west on Bell Road past the 303 is the far reaches of Phoenix civilization (as of now, as the sprawl continues). On your right, when looking for Great Eagle GC, for the first time, the long ribbons of green set a promising tone.
Turning in the residential community, the course is quick on the right. Heck, I got to park right in front, next to the entrance between two arched over buildings, one housing the pro shop. The architecture is interesting and angular. The lady in the pro shop was friendly and efficient, pointing out where to head for the restroom, carts and the first tee.
After stops at the first two, it was on to destination. I was late and the single I was to play with was already out in the fairway. I got to play alone and told to try to catch up, which only took a hole. About the same amount of time to realize this place has THE WORST cartpaths I've ever seen.
Carts were a bit tired and the strap holding my bag had so little grip, twice my clubs fell off the cart. Not really what you want when the paths are so rough.
STILL, I had a great time, as the golf course while short at under 6700 yards from the tips, has lots of good holes. Holes with movement, holes which reward for being able to work the ball away from your favorite shot shape and just a touch of elevation change are all featured. Greens are moderate and fair, though less than totally smooth.
All in all, nice for the price. Have already made a tee time for my second look at it.
Great eagle
Tee boxes fairways and greens in good condition layout ok. Bunkers horrible. No beverage cart. No coolers no drink stations. Very slow golf almost 5 hour round. Entire facility needs alot of help.
Overpriced
Course is not bad, but it's definitely not a $37 per round cost. When you can go to Coldwater or Sundance for the same price and they are significantly better courses I'd rather go there. Overall I'd play again here for $20 or under but it would have to a last option. Staff was great, friendly and top notch.
Cart paths are a joke!!
Tee’s,fairways and green’s are in good condition but the roughs and cart paths are a joke. Don’t play this course if it is cart path only.
the eagle
A very pleasant surprise. Much improved , just hope they continue the good work.
Great value!
Fun course, friendly staff. In really good condition right now. Awesome bar with lots of big screens.
