The North Course is one of two courses at Granite Falls Golf Club, the other naturally being the South Course. The North Course was built on a rolling, hilly terrain with stately trees and abundant shrubbery. Although the fairways are quite generous, they are undulating and surrounded by sand traps. There is also extensive mounding and bunkering, both grass and sand, to provide more challenge. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Many holes have beautiful mountain backdrops, creating a scenic environment for the game. The course has four sets of tees, making it accessible to all skill levels. Granite Falls Golf Club, in addition to the two golf courses, also features a grass driving range with target areas, two putting greens, and a short game area with a practice bunker.

Nice variety from hole to hole

Overall it was in pretty good shape for this time of year in Phoenix. The only problem was that they airrated the back nine rough and was not noted when I booked the tee time on golfnow.com.

Bad bad bad

I booked 7:30 tee time on a Saturday. We showed up 30 mins early to warm up only to be called to tee off 15 minutes early. We got to the starter and he mentioned that we would be playing as a twosome since the group they had us paired with was running late. We told the starter to ask them to join us once they caught up since he told us there was a bunch of foursomes in front of us. The group never joined and the pace was brutal as two single digit handicap's we were waiting on every shot. The course conditions were awful, gravel - literally like what I have in my front yard in the middle of the fairways, greens were horribly bumpy and did not roll true at all. We left after 9 holes - I never do this. I didn't know I could post pictures here or I'd have taken some. Went in the golf shop to complain and they didn't seem to care.

Good Round

You could tell that this course is a great course during the peak golfing times. There were some burnt spots in the grass but what do you expect when the temperature is 108 degrees. I would play again.

Fairways need a lot of work.

The greens on the course were good. However, the fairways and around the greens were in fairly poor shape. Lots of dead grass and bare spots.

Sat Morning

The course layout is very pleasant to the eye but the fairways were in bad shape, Bermuda grass is not in yet and all the winter rye is dead.

Granite Falls North Course

This well kept golf course is great for players of all abilities. There are two sets of forward tees for beginners and those who do not hit shots longer that 125-175 years making it possible for shorter hitters to make pars with two good shots on par 4 holes. The greens are quick and in very good shape. There are some dead spots in some of the fairways due to the extreme temperatures of late. Tee boxes are free of broken tees and members repair ball marks so your feel like you will make putts. Highly recommend!

The course was in good shape considering the heat has taken a toll on much of the fairways ...

Did not care for the course ranger forcing us to give up a cart after 9 holes to ride with a 4th golfer who caught up with our threesome at about the sixth hole. This woman had absolutely no golf etiquette and she made the last 13 holes a very unpleasant experience. Suppose it was our fault for not letting her play through.

Great West Valley Course

Beautiful course, somewhat challenging. Almost perfect, Would give it five stars, but the sand is in bad shape, Needs to be addressed. There is a lot of traps on the course. So you will find yourself in it from time to time. good luck getting out.

tuff greens

Course is well maintained, transitioning from winter rye to bermuda so were some bare spots. Greens are large with a lot of ungulations . Pace of play was terrific.

Good condition, great price

As most AZ courses, the sand traps need some work. Some of the ones I was in were very hard. Most of the fairway and rough grass was in good shape. Green were reasonably fast. Wish there was a beverage cart out there. Overall good to very good.

great layout and course

fun course to play, greens were fast and true, fairways nice, in great shape, you have to bring with you some patience, slow play, waiting on every shot, staff are not very friendly, kind of rude actually.

Granite Falls North has it all

Granite Falls is on Golfnow only half the year when the snowbirds fly the coop. So look forward to my summer season of playing Scottsdale grade courses for a fraction of the fees right here in my backyard. Any course you choose inside Sun City Grand gives you just the right amount of water, bunkers superb greens and plenty of shade for the long hot summer.

Fun course to play

Have some time and patients when playing this course. I was a single and no one would let me play through. The staff was disorganized. I had to call the clubhouse while I was at the 1st tee to see if I could go because I was never called and it was 15mins after my scheduled time. The course itself is in great condition, very fun with some really challenging shots, but then some relief with a few easy holes mixed in. Overall as a fun course, 4 stars. Customer service, 1 star.
