Golfer Reviews
Always look forward to playing here.
We play this course about two to three times a year when in the area (we are from Sacramento). It's challenging but not to difficult, weather so far is usually great. Wind might pick up later in day, but still enjoyable. One of our favorites!
Poor greens
I know courses have to aerate their greens. But when they do they really should reduce their prices, it makes for a terrible day of golf playing on recently aerated greens.
Punched greens without a notice
We booked on Golfnow and no warning that the greens had been punched. You should warns customers and not charge full price if you just punched the greens. I'm taking my business else where.
Good value for the price
The course is a good layout and plays longer then the card due to changes in elevation. You have to think you way around this course, driver isn't always the smart play. There are some challenging holes and knowing where to play the ball is important. There are birdies to be had but big numbers as well.
Difficult to differentiate between fairway and rough, multiple different grasses and weeds with everything about the same length. The greens are slow and bumpy. The bunkers have a lot of rocks in them and are inconsistent.
I hear that the course can be windy but the day we played we had almost perfect weather. The course is in a nice setting without the intrusion of too many houses.
I would play this course again and beats the price of other courses on the Monterey Peninsula.
Laguna is nice and fun
Solid track, not as exciting as some of the other mid-tier courses in the area, but well-kept and overall a very satisfying experience.
Good Dependable Course
As usual, Laguna Seca offers a good value in a great environment. The course has a variety of challenges and is in good condition. One always looks forward to the 15th hole where one can be a hero or a goat very easily.
The staff is always friendly and strive to make the golfing experience a good one.
The driving range is excellent.
Surprisingly fun course
I love playing Laguna seca. It's rarely crowded and each hole offers a fun challenge.
Bunkers need help
I really like playing this course. The cost for the round in the cart was great
Negative issues bunkers need a little help
Beautiful round with great views.
This course is located in a beautiful setting and has variety, challenge, and the best rates around the Monterey Penn.
Great Experience
Greens are fast, small and challenging. Enjoyed it tremendously. The bunkers are somewhat inconsistent. I guess this best thing is to stay out of them.
New Look
The red tees have been moved far forward of where they were when I first started playing the course. I would be insulted except that it so much more fun to hit from the new tee locations. Dining is great. Especially the salad bar.
Love the Monterey area
Great course for most golfers. The front nine is much easier than the back. The elevated first tee box gives the player a good opportunity to make par, which is always a great way to start a round.
Standard course
This is the golf course I measure all others against. LS is a good standard nice golf course with predictable greens that are right in between challenging yet manageable for beginners. Fairways are in very good shape overall. Club has a shower which is convenient so I can change after a bike ride ride before playing a round
Only downside is the restaurant closes early afternoon. So no late afternoon snacks (or drinks) after a mid day round
Bunkers
Overall this course is great! Has chalanging bunkers that make you think of what shot to approach the greens!
This course has great views challenges.
I have played this course many times ,but today brought my son -in-law and he was very impressed. He thought the layout was very nice. The course was in great shape even with all the rain we had lately.
