About
Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.
At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Not worth $100
This course is not worth the $100 they charge guests of the Omni. Course is not in good shape. Worth maybe $50. When my group got to the course an hour before our tee time we wanted to grab some breakfast and warm up. No breakfast. They had crackers. I asked if they had hot dogs as I was starving and they did warm me up a hot dog at 9 am. Yum!! We were advised the cart person was loaded up and had hot dogs and snacks. We finally saw her on the 8th hole and no hot dogs. Only crackers and beer. When we finished no food once again. I understand COVID took a toll but this was a terrible experience. I will never play this course again.

Nice track
Good bang for the buck. No beverage cart though. Staff are very friendly. Don't like the fact that you have to be a FL or GA resident to book a tee time most of the time

Lots of work being done to course
We were fortunate to get a Golfnow special rate for our round. Had we paid the full out of town rate, we would have been disappointed. A few tee boxes were under repair, and a few others were in need of repair. Some great holes along the marshes of Amelia Island. Recent rains didn’t drain well. Starter and staff were great, very friendly. Greens were good, got lost twice on strange cart path layout and lack of signs.

Nice course
Tight and a little on the short side, but that is what island golf often is. Pretty good shape and a fun course to play. Everyone at the course was super friendly and accomodating - all in all a great round of golf.

Maintenance Crew Needs to Go
My favorite course on the island has degraded from a good value at $80 to a $40 course. The maintenance crew needs to fix the tee boxes, get the fairways in better shape and get the greens to roll faster and truer. Recent rainfall levels have made all courses less playable but Oak Marsh is is worse condition than cheaper courses in the area.

Green conditions are average, at best
Nice course, love the layout. Staff was very friendly and Dennis is a great course ambassador. Playing here again on Thursday.
