Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa - Oak Marsh

Dad and I played the Saturday before Father’s Day. Course was just topped and maintained. Good condition and I’m sure in a few weeks it will be GREAT condition!

We were not informed that the greens were just punched when booking via GolfNow so that was a surprise upon checking in. It is a great course, but I won’t play it again unless I can get it for less than $100...it is certainly not a $150+ golf course. Great layout, but you can find similar courses with just as nice of views for a more reasonable cost.

Course is nearly perfect condition, one of those courses that when you hit the fairway you never have to touch the ball. Greens are solid medium + speed and very receptive. Starter was a great guy, free balls on the range, practice putting are was real good. Not really any negatives to give this place.

What a really great course. Beautiful layout with extended views of the marsh areas. Pick the right tees for your game and you will really enjoy playing this course. Driving range not the best, the tee area really bare. Good 19th hole for good food and drinks.

Found an excellent deal on Golf Now to play The Omni Amelia Island resort Oak Marsh course. I do want to stress that you have to enter via Security (which was no problem, I gave the Guard my Last name and Tee time.) Upon arrival, you are greeted by the Valet's that place your golf bag on your cart. From there the check in process was very quick and efficient. Directly across the street from the Pro Shop is the area where you can warm up and practice on the putting green.

The Marshal calls you by your last name to begin your round and checks your receipt. Pretty standard stuff here, I asked about the overall condition of the greens on the course and he told me to stay pin high and that was most certainly the case. Now playing in Georgia where we have many elevation changes is quick different than playing on flat fairways for about 95% of the course. Obviously no complaints from me at all. I was paired with a group of great guys that actually lived on the course. They were very helpful in identifying areas to avoid that were hidden from the naked eye.

All the Tee boxes were in excellent shape and the fairways rolled true and fast. If you haven't played this course before some of the bunkers were not that deep and actually had a mixture of particles from the Marsh which made it very easy to get out. All the Greens rolled firm and fast with some slight undulations on each one.

It took a few holes to get used to the speed of the greens but I was thoroughly pleased. The Wildlife, Marsh and overall scenic views of the homes made the course fantastic to play. We finished our round in about 3 1/2 hours and I enjoyed myself so much, I decided to play an additional 9 holes.

I do want to caution you that during the afternoon you could feel the wind coming across the course on various holes which could significantly alter the flight of the ball. Great job by the Pro Shop staff and I will definitely play the next time I'm in town.

Course was awesome. Conditions were great from tee box to green. Had warm up area and an amazing pro shop. Items are a little pricey but huge selection . Overall a very nice course that I would play again.

One of my favorite courses in the area. Greens were true and had good pace. Great early round and done before the heat set in. Good test for all levels.

Course in great condition. Slow play at first but the ranger came out on #4 and “encouraged “ the slow group in front of us to allow us to play through.

Bring your A game or a few dozen balls. It is a great layout that winds up with some spectacular holes down the stretch.

Conditioning was very good. Fairways and greens excellent. Rough and fringe areas a bit worn but not too bad.

I walked away in awe of the beauty of the marsh and the way a couple of holes were built into it.

This course is a challenge with each hole different. Not a beginners course. The fairways are wide with plenty of turf this time of the year. Greens are fast, true and in excellent condition. The sand bunkers were consistent which is a big plus. For a resort course pace of play was very good. Looking forward to playing this course again.

This was my first time playing Oak Marsh. I loved the course, but it was a stern challenge today with the strong winds.

Oak Marsh offers plenty of challenges (layout, elevated greens, water, bunkers, forced carries, narrow fairways, waste bunkers, large, over-hanging trees, etc).

The course is fantastic and very beautiful and peaceful with a lot of old, majestic, spanish moss draped oak trees.

Fairway and green conditions are very good. The greens were running quite a bit slower than I anticipated, but they were smooth and ran true with lots of slopes, undulations and sloping run-off areas.

I will definitely be back to play again and I highly recommend the Oak Marsh course.

Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Course has elevated small greens and in great shape.

Wonderful course. Played relatively fast. Fairways where in good condition and the greens where as well. Pace of play was great. No complaints!
