Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa - Oak Marsh

I was the first one to tee off at the first tee in the morning. From a resort course perspective, it offers plenty of challenges from the layout designs, intimidation of trees in play, etc. This is especially true if you play from the first tee (Gold tee). The course is beautiful and peaceful with a lot of oak trees. There are about 3 or 4 holes with a landscape of marsh. Fairway and green conditions are very good although they're slower than I anticipated. There are few beaten up tee boxes but the overall condition of the course is very good. It's recommended to bring a bottle of mosquito spray because these bugs are your best friends in the morning.

We booked with Golf Now and got a great rate for a great course! This course is first class from beginning to end. Carts have GPS so forget yours. Ice and water at the restrooms. Staff was terrific. We will do this again...

Beautiful to the eye. Each hole is well engineered. Mechanically requires draw, fade, and straight shots.

I came for work and want to get a late afternoon round in. Booked this course for price and reviews. It was an hour from my hotel and well worth the drive. Good but tough layout. A lot of fairways are gettable if you aren’t too aggressive off the tee. Greens rolled pretty fast bit in good shape. Fairways were in great shape. VIEWS of the marshes are amazing. I will be back to this course.

Course is only for very skilled golfers. Too difficult. Great test of golf for 10 or below handicap

You can’t go wrong with this course. It’s hard to find a weakness. From the course itself regarding conditions and layout , it’s far above any public and most private courses. The Pete Dye design combined with top notch conditions makes it well worth my 100 mile round trip . On top of that, the staff is very professional but also welcoming. Been going to this property for years and it never disappoints. If you haven’t been-well, you’re certainly missing out. Good luck on a day with big wind !

I'm a Georgia Resident so I was able to get the discounted price. But wow this course is spectacular. The fairways and greens are in great shape. Some greens seem to be inconsistent with ball pace but all in all it's a great course. Highly recommended for all but mostly for Georgia Florida residents.

The course was great and well maintained. The greens were not overly fast, which I love. My only complaint was pace of play. We had to wait on almost every hole (16/18 holes we waited).

The In-cart GPS was great and the drink cart was around several times.

This Pete dye course didn't disappoint, great layout. Conditions were good for march. Will definitely play again.

Got hooked up with a couple. Good golfers and very nice.

I did a review yesterday being very honest about the poor conditions of this course. Oddly, the negative review is removed.

I’ll make the review very simple: the conditions on this course are worse than any $25 muni I have ever played. Save your money and go elsewhere.

First, the good. The person in the pro shop was great. Very friendly and welcoming. The bag attendant, Steve, was awesome. Very personable and helpful.

For the rest of the course, it was a disgrace. The conditions are a $25 muni at best. To think it’s anything else is laughable. I expected, green, lush conditions. Instead, all they have on the tee boxes and “fairways” (and I use those terms loosely) were bare spots and mud. No grass. The course was completely soaked and there has not been rain for days. And the best part, they were watering even more.

I literally cannot think of one thing that would bring me back. Not one memorable hole. Terrible conditions. Everything about this course felt old. From the tiny greens, to the mud filled “fairways” to the cracked and trees rooted cart paths. I thought the reason the Ocean Course was closed was to put money into this one. If this is the result of money going in, they need a refund.
