Great course accommodating starter. Greens are very very good with exception of hole 5. New ownership is making a huge effort to improve this facility and it shows. Tee boxes need some attention but confident they will be addressed in due time. Hidden gem

Challenging layout, water on a majority of holes, sloped greens with breaking putts, tee boxes need some work and one of the par 3s was closed, otherwise great.

I have played Deer Island a number of times and never scored very well, but have always enjoyed it. The new owner is making some good decisions for improvements and keeping some of the best features from the past ( like the pool table in the clubhouse)! The island location facilitates a pretty steady breeze which in the summer months makes starting times after 10 AM bearable. We played 18 holes in just over 3 hours and never waited on any hole (of course it was a Monday 10:20 tee time)! The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The greens are slow but roll true, we will return!

Excellent condition given the weather in Florida. Fairways are green and lush. Greens coming back after having been aerated and sanded. Staff and Starter were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be playing again.

Looking forward to playing the 13th hole when repairs are completed.

Everything was great - course, facilities, staff and service. For the price, it's by far the best golf experience in Central Florida. Course was in great condition except 2 greens had some spots and the "island" green was still under construction. Tons of water hidden by sneaky hills. The beverage cart stayed at one hole (8?} but was well stocked with good beer

Played 2 months ago and course was not up to its usual standard. Greens are getting better but are slow. 13 is still a temp green. Lots of mosquitoes on the course.

Blind mosquitoes or midges swarm you on several holes like Mosses plague.

Played Deer Island late 2024 and course was in great shape. Went back 6 months later and it’s looking a bit rough. Greens were in not good condition and the value just not there.

The par 3 over the water was still shut down since the last time we played that was over 6 months ago. It should be fixed and open for play by now. So overall the course needs a little work.

Every time I go there, I seem to have a really good time at a fairly difficult golf course! I’ve been there enough to know that the staff are great. The conditions are great. The range is nice! I think it’s impossible to have a bad day at Deer Island!!

I just wished thatI lived closer to the place so that I can play there more often! It’s a great test of golf and great place to visit!!

small greens. recently punched. course in good shape. sneaky long. beautiful surroundings. blind misquotes a plenty.

Have been to this GC 5 times in past. Even though the greens were punched 5 days prior, they had not been cut or rolled so putting was impossible. Tee boxes were burned out and lacked grass on many of them. Conditions in the past were PERFECT! under new ownership so I am hoping this isnt a sign of what is to come of Deer Island. Excellent track with great views but would have rather spent my money elsewhere.

I played here last year, it is very nice course, but this time it is not very good, some of the tee box needs attention, fairway was great a few holes green also need some work, some of the bunkers have a lot of weeds, but we still love to play here we will be back soon!!!
