Deer Island Country Club

This wonderful out-of-the way semi-private golf course is perfectly designed to fit on an island in the middle of central Florida. Ancient moss covered oak trees, multiple strategically placed bunkers, and water features come into play on every hole, creating a difficult but fair test. My new favorite in the area.

Played course on Sunday was that pleased we went back on Thursday.

Only downside was the drive from Orlando took 50 mins and we got lost 🤣

Not used to driving in USA

Loved this course so much we went back and played it again. We had hoped to improve our scores, but the wind and water the second day kept that from happening. We did see 21 alligators the first day as well as a bald eagle. Can’t beat the value of this gem.

This course is always in great shape and is a must play whenever we are in Florida. The layout is challenging and you have to make your shots. The staff is consistently friendly. I only wish I could play it more often.

Very nice tract. Fairways actually had grass on them. The greens were nice, but small. We played the white tees, which were too long for me. If I play there again, I will play the gold tees. All in all it was a beautiful experience.

Really liked the course, challenging. My only bad mark would be that I left my Bushnell GPS on the cart. I received a phone call message letting my know from Jill that they had the GPS and would put my name on it for me to call back. When I called, they couldn't locate it and I was told Jill would call me back. Haven't received a call back.

Here we go !! This course is amazing, The lay out the greens and fairways were in good shape. If you want to play a great course play here by far. Especially if you from the north. Canadian people play this course.

Admittedly, expectations exceeded reality as I thought it would be a much more picturesque course. But the course was okay and reminded me of a typical community golf course that winds through the neighborhood. While it’s a good value for the money, I’m not sure the value justifies driving an hour outside of Orlando to play with so many other options available. With that said, it is definitely a very challenging course with water - and alligators - everywhere.

There were gators everywhere. Be careful while there.

Challenging course with water playing a part on every hole. The greens were hard and fast but fair. The fairways were hard also which led to some rollouts to some strategically placed bunkers. We enjoyed seeing gators, some swimming, some sunning and one walking across a fairway.

We had a great round at Deer Island, the course is in really good shape and each hole offers a different challenge. It’s set in a beautiful location. Will definitely be babk

I last played Deer Island about 20 years ago, I think the routing has changed. But for a course that's in the middle of nowhere, at the $75 price point I need a little bit more grass on the greens, I'm expecting to putt on them, not through them. The rest of the experience was just fine.
