Should be called Alligator Island.

Great experience for our group. The course is in immaculate shape and for us Iowans, gators on almost every hole !! Snaggletooth on hole #13 was impressive !!

The course staff and club house staff were more than welcoming and ready to answer any questions.

We will definitely be back.

Course is in terrific shape. Greens rolled true but were a little slower than usual. The wind typically blows hard off the lake which impacts club selection on ever hole.

Comfortable Round

Tees and Fairways were in excellent condition. Greens were good but not in the best shape. The golf cart was really old, but ran okay. There was a snack & beverage cart on the course. Lots of water, much of it hidden (my ball found too many of these water hazards⛳️😎). Scorecard doesn't really show the layout of the holes well enough to guage the shots to avoid hidden water.

The people in the clubhouse were all polite and friendly. I'd definitely go back again.

Deer Island Golf

We were late because of traffic, but the course accommodated us no questions asked. Course layout and conditions are really good, the greens are slow but true.

A fair challenge even with water on every hole. We are going back for sure.

Water water everywhere(but not enough to sink our spirits)

This wad a really fun round of golf at an excellent course on Deer Island, Tavares, FL. Very convenient from Mt Dora, charming “Old Florida” vacay spot. The kayout is challenging but fair. Definitely target golf, and you must have a good short game as some greens are pretty tiny. Fairways in awesome shape, nice and wide in most cases but narrow in some places (#9 requires course management smarts). A couple of blind shots on 7 and 18, but the starter was very helpful in describing what to look for). Staff was great, some beautiful views and an active HUGE eagles nest on #9. Great day of golf. Highly recommend

Love this course

Brought a couple of friends from northern Illinois. They were not disappointed. The course was in great shape. The greens were fast but not rolled so putting was not consistent from green to green. But we had a great time. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will be back again this year.
