Deer Island Country Club

I live in Kissimmee and came across this course a while back—it’s about an hour away, but I finally decided to give it a shot, and I’m sure glad I did. I’ve now played here four weekends in a row.

The staff is terrific, the layout rivals most high-end courses in Central Florida, and the conditions are consistently strong. They recently opened the signature par 3, and let me tell you—it’ll test even a scratch golfer.

Definitely recommend giving this place a try, no matter the commute. The pictures don’t do it justice.

Lots of water and gators. Tough to score well but fun to play.

Haven’t played here in a while, probably because it’s a long drive but what a great course. It’s really been a favorite for 20+ years and nice to see it in great shape. Obviously the lack of hole 13 is a negative but enjoy the par there while you can, it looks soon to be complete. Great views, abundant wildlife, birdie chances and water everywhere but plenty of grass to play on.

Have played this course many times. Fairways greens and traps are in great condition.. if deer Island can figure out how to get the tea boxes in shape. This course will be excellent.. for whatever reason the tea boxes need some work the part three that was washed out last year from the storm. Looks to be getting closer to being back in play. This is a great value for the money always a good time and the staff is very, very friendly.

Beautiful track that makes you think about every shot. Only gripe is that on hole 6 we got stopped by the ranger to tell us we were behind pace and to speed up. We said okay and she went on about how we were holding the course up and we need to speed up instead of letting us get back to golf. Mind you we had a 10:20 tee time and it was 11:30 when she stopped us. Pacing 14 minutes per hole for the first 5 holes. Nobody was pushing us either. Seems she’s just old and bored. Everyone else was awesome and the restaurant staff was fun and helpful. Food good too. Would make the hour and a half drive to play it again.

Great conditions, very challenging, scenic. A must play GC.

After the one par-3 is completed its repair. This course will be ready for prime time.

Totally unique experience from other courses in central Florida I’ve played. Our buddy suggested taking his pontoon boat out for a day on the lake, but golfing beforehand. Pulled up to the dock and took a 2 min walk to the club house which felt pretty surreal. Course was in great shape, challenging layout with a ton of water that makes you play intelligently or pay the price. Being extra balls. Clubhouse is dope with a sim and pool table, super friendly staff

Not only is this course absolutely beautiful it is in fabulous condition! Plays long for a 25 handicap, but manageable. Loved playing and will definitely return!

Greens are darn near perfect. Fairways are really nice for the most part. Tee boxes....some need some work. We love this course....long drive, sure but worth it. Management is really trying to keep this a top course. Homes in/on the course are breathtaking........lucky boogers!
