Played Deer Island numerous times and it's always in great condition. we drive an hour from orlando to go here because it's always in better shape than virtually any other central florida course.

Target golf at its finest. If you like lots of water, wind and excellent greens - you will love deer island. It takes playing the course once or playing with someone familiar with it to figure out the target line off of some of the tees. The course is always in excellent condition. The wind is usually stronger than you think so club up. There are more than 3 sets of tees so be sure to look at the total yardage before you select where to play from- with the wind and some of the forced carries- you are apt to shoot a high score if you fail to match the yardage to your skill level.

First time playing this course as we drove an hour to get there

The course has 16/18 holes of some body of water

Greens were a bit slow

The staff was awesome as they look happy to be there

I believe this is a great deal if you are in the area and we will definitely go back

This was the second time we played the course. Greens were quick but fair overall course conditions were excellent. Staff behind the counter were all very friendly and the service was excellent. Well worth the 1 hour ride to play this course.

Pace of Play expectations

Course was awesome and the conditions were great. Beverage cart person was great. Overall great experience except for the ranger telling us we needed to pick up the pace. Apparently the threesome behind us called the pro shop and complained we were slow. Our foursome completed the round in 3hours and 42 minutes. That is an acceptable pace at any golf course.
