Deer Island Country Club

Great course for the price. Great greens. Challenging. Great staff. We travel 2 hours just to come play.

Played morning of 4/1/26. Saw 2 bald eagles, 4 alligators and a raccoon who came to within 5 feet of our cart to get food. Water on almost every hole, very nice layout. We never had to wait, played in 3-1/2 hours. 3 or 4 greens had some bare spots, they were not large, greens were slow, but challenging. Fairways and tee boxes were in very good shape. The natural scenery and water features make this course stand out.

Tough course but scorable. Played at 730am in 3 hours. Will go back.

Course is awesome, Erin, Jim, Jen, Gabby, Shelby, all the staff is great My favorite!

First played here in 2022. Shot 90. 2023 shot 91. 2024 shot 92. Last year, 91. This year, a very frustrating 90 with double bogey on the last 2 holes. All from the white tees that measure a little over 6200 yards.

This is the ONLY course I play EVERY YEAR I vacation. I encourage anyone in the Orlando area visiting and you plan on golfing, take the hour plus drive to Deer Island!!!

I can’t recommend Deer Island enough and can’t wait to return!!

The staff couldn't have been more gracious. That helped to make up for a sub-mediocre clubhouse facility. We had a great day!

Great course. Tough off the tees with bunkers and water everywhere!

Course was very nice although some of the greens were a little spotty

Layout was challenging with water on almost every hole.

Most beautiful course I have played. Worth the 1.5 hour drive to get there.

We have played the course many times over the years. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Looks like the new owners are going to bring it back to greatness. Unfortunately we were behind slow groups and it took us 5 hours, But we will be back.

This was our first time playing Deer Island, and we were impressed. The course is in excellent condition, and the staff were friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The pace of play was slow, our round took about five hours, but the ranger was actively working to keep groups moving. He checked in with us several times, explained the reasons for the delay, and did so with a great attitude. Despite the slower pace, we enjoyed the layout. With plenty of water and swamp hazards as well as more than a few gators! It delivered a true Florida golf experience. The course is fun, challenging, and very playable, and I’ll definitely keep Deer Island on my list. Next time, I’ll aim for an earlier tee time to avoid the afternoon backups. Overall, great staff, a well‑maintained course, and a memorable round.

1st hole there were 4 different 4somes waiting to tee off. Waited 10-15 mins every hole before we could tee off. Every par 5 there were 3 groups. Tee times should not be stacked on top of each other.

Beautiful course. The lake views are wonderful. Course conditions are great.

Fantastic course, but pace of play was too slow. There were two fivesomes in front of us, think they were locals because they had their own bright green carts. We were moving along at a good pace till we caught up to them. Turned a 4 hour great day into a 5 hour, hit and wait.. Love the course, but why let fivesomes ruin the day for everyone else?
