Deer Island Country Club

I’m giving this course a 9.5/10 only for the fact that their signature hole par 3 #13 is under repair and have to hit to a makeshift green on the side. Aside from that the course was perfect. Couldn’t ask for more.

This course is challenging with lots of water. It is enjoyable just for it’s natural beauty.

Bring extra balls as water in play it seems every hole. Played many times in the past. Use to see as many as 10+ gators. Now none.

Course is stunning!! Staff is wonderful...Shout out to the Starter, Mark (Semper Fi), always cheerful and great to talk with. Can't wait to play Hole 13, once the retaining wall around the green is finally repaired (it's been down for quite a while and the temp green is, well, VERY temporary). Would have loved to see the Beverage Cart roaming around during our round, but they don't send it out on Mondays.

Very nice layout and a well kept course. It’s a fair course for good players (10 handicap or better). Too difficult for me right now with my 20 handicap. It would be very helpful to be more familiar with the course as there are several hidden water hazards that turn a seemingly nice shot, bad. Fun to play with a reasonable rate for lesser players if you’re not too concerned about scoring. Very friendly staff and a fun day. Now I gotta go buy more balls. Also, saw a bald eagle, a red fox and kicked up two alligators.

Deer Island was in great shape from tee to green. The only imperfection was #13, which is under construction. The fairways were plush and tee boxes were in great shape. The greens were a little slow but just... As usual the views on this course with the wild life were exceptional. I will continue to make the hour long drive to this course!

Good course, very challenging. Lots of water in play, narrowish fairways don't really tolerate much slicing/hooking. Rough, fairways and greens in good condition. At the time of writing (August 2025) the par 3 Hole 13 had a temporary green, looks like the front wall of the green is collapsing into the lake...

Will definitely play here again.

Deer Island was in the best shape that I have seen in the Orlando area this summer. Fairways were completely filled in and ran like carpet. The greens rolled true and had very few, if any, bad spots on them. they were at a good speed, not slow but not like a pool table either. You had to read the grain as well. All this for only $25 after 1:00. I've paid a lot more this summer for a heck of a lot less course!
