Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
About
Las Colinas is one of two championship golf courses at Mission Inn Resort. It is less challenging than the other course, El Campeon, but both provide enjoyable and unique rounds. Las Colinas sprawls across gently rolling hills with elevation changes that are less startling than those found throughout the older El Campeon course. Twisted oak hammocks and a sprinkling of lush pines accent Las Colinas. The golf course has an inland links layout that boasts wide-open, forgiving fairways and large, receptive greens. There is an interesting variety of risk/reward opportunities as well as a few forced carries. The course has many player-friendly features but its classic architecture does call for a fair amount of accuracy, especially on its signature hole, the par-5 12th. Nicknamed "Alligator Alley," this 493-yard hole features a winding, tree-lined fairway.

Great Course
Played here many times and it never disappoints. Course was in great shape. Greens were immaculate. The rough was a little lengthy in places, but it wouldn't have been an issue if I hit more fairways. All in all, well worth the drive and money.
Just incredible!
I would tell you what time I teed off, but I want to save that time for me. Forever. The course is in such incredible shape and is a layout I’ve always found fascinating. I’m beginning to learn I might really like Gary Koch layouts!
Anyway, choose this course. Beautiful drive in as well.
Got what we wanted, not what we needed
My friends and I were eager to get out early for a birthday round and had plans return to the Winter Park area for lunch and a drink. However, the pace of play due to a group who tee'd off at 7:36 am prior to us changed our plans.
By the time we reached the 8th tee box, we'd had enough. A call to the pro-shop proved insignificant and by the time we'd reached the 9th tee box we were approaching 2:45. Needless to say, it was time to take matters into our own hands.
When we reached the 9th, only TWO of the four players had tee'd off despite our group playing the 8th like a bunch of 30 handicaps. I politely asked if we may play through when a bit of mayhem ensued. The ranger finally showed, words were exchanged between us and the group ahead before they finally allowed us to play through. There were double bogeys and bogeys abound, we weren't putting together the hole we envisioned but in the end we got what we wanted.
Here's the rub, we then proceeded to play the back in an hour and 40 minutes (as a 4 ball) and DIDN'T SEE ANOTHER GROUP IN THE PROCESS.
I don't know what is viewed as acceptable for pace of play at Mission Inn, but I can't imagine 5 hours and 30 minutes is allowable. It's ok to be a bad golfer, but to be bad and hold up an entire golf course is unacceptable. Suck fast.
Unfortunately, I don't think our group will be making the trek back out.
Play here at least twice a month. Never been disappointed! Just wish I could have played better..
Lightening shortened round
Always enjoy Mission Inn. Unfortunately after 7 holes a strong line of Thunderstorms approached causing us to cancel our round. Whereas I had purchased the “Deal Times “ round and paid 100% online the course does not issue rain checks. When I returned home I called the TeeOff phone number listed on my Reservation Details paperwork. There was a prerecorded message and then the line disconnected. I assume it is because it was on Saturday and will try again on Monday. I’d like to get a partial credit as the course was temporarily shut down.
3rd time to play. more fun each time
Above average facilities, course, and amenities. Good conditions, but rebuilding a hole on the backside. Really a fun challenging course which is not to difficult from the golds for a 70-year old.
Good, but not El Campeon
Las Colinas is a good layout and is in very good shape. It’s a good modern compliment to El Campeon although not as a memorable. Wider fairways and slightly more forgiving across the board having a little less trouble and elevation change. Worth the trip - you can’t beat the value.
Wonderful day
The only thing missing the restaurant other than that fantastic day of golf
Great Golf Experience
The staff and the course is first rate. A great value!! Only thing missing is the restaurant for after golf drinks and food. That would complete the day.
Great course on a great day!
Played El Campeon on Friday June 19th with 7 buddies as a Fathers Day weekend, then played 18 on El Dorado which is set up with Ececutive tees on Las Colinas. Had a great time doing that and we got a preview of Las Colinas in the process. , we played 18 on the regular tees on Saturday the 20th. Course was in excellent shape! Other than 14 being under repair so it was playing as a par 3 instead of 4. As hot as it was we still had a great time! I highly recommend spending a golf weekend at Mission Inn whenever you can!
Father’s Day
One of my favorite courses in the area. Both courses are fantastic. Greens starting to come in after aeration a few weeks back. Overall in good shape a few of the tees were a bit sparse and 14 is shortened to par three as they reseeded fairway but I’ve always loved the layout and will be back.
What a Steal!
Where do I start? The staff was awesome, the course layout is awesome, pace was awesome, and the observation of COVID-19 prevention (in FL after most all courses have scrapped it) was awesome. The greens still showed a little evidence of sanding and aeration, but still rolled good to us. Got this one on a Hot Deal and they should call Hot Steal at that price! Will be back Hot Deal or not!
