Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
About
Las Colinas is one of two championship golf courses at Mission Inn Resort. It is less challenging than the other course, El Campeon, but both provide enjoyable and unique rounds. Las Colinas sprawls across gently rolling hills with elevation changes that are less startling than those found throughout the older El Campeon course. Twisted oak hammocks and a sprinkling of lush pines accent Las Colinas. The golf course has an inland links layout that boasts wide-open, forgiving fairways and large, receptive greens. There is an interesting variety of risk/reward opportunities as well as a few forced carries. The course has many player-friendly features but its classic architecture does call for a fair amount of accuracy, especially on its signature hole, the par-5 12th. Nicknamed "Alligator Alley," this 493-yard hole features a winding, tree-lined fairway.

Great Resort Course
Had a great time playing this course while on vacation. Course is a little ways out there from Orlando, but worth the trip. There was virtually no one else on the course, so we were able to play in 4 hours. Good condition and layout.
A Good Test of Golf
I find Las Colinas to be a harder test of golf than El Campeon, due to some of the long par 4's with tight fairways that tend to be dogleg rights. The course is always in good shape and can play longer than anticipated.
A polar opposite layout to El Campeon. This is slightly tighter and weaves among some homes. It certainly isn't a slouch in comparison, our group made a day and played both courses in the same day. Highly recommend coming to check it out as the course was in great shape, maybe close to the best I have seen it.
Solid Companion to El Campion.
Had the chance to play Las Colinas for the first time yesterday as part of a 36-hole day at Mission Inn.
El Campion is the lead track and I’ve played it a few times before. It’s a solid test that’s tight and fairly unforgiving for the slightest wayward tee ball. There’s a good amount elevation change for Florida and something that feels more like Cape Cod (elevation and pines) or Southern CA (elevation and surrounding Spanish hotel architects). Las Colinas is a more traditional forgiving Florida-style layout that has less of both of theses.
We played 36 on this occasion and our second 18 was a fun-first, 2-team, 10-man scramble. This layout was very conducive for this format. .
I’d like the chance to play it on my own ball as it’s more forgiving than its tighter more demanding sister course.
Recommend.
all good...Mission Inn has 2 excellent courses and both are favorites of mine
Slow green
Disappointed in the green, good course. Expected better green, took fun out of the round.
underrated
This is the sister course for El Campeon. But it is every bit as good of a course. The layout is more moderate and less elevations that El Campeon, but the round was perfect for an intermediate golfer like me
Awesome set of courses. Grwat shape. Played both in last month. Both in great condition. Great hot deal. Worth the little extra. Courses are wonderful. Very challenging. Will test your best for sure.
Outstanding
This golf course is in amazing shape. Although not easy by any stretch, Las Colinas course challenges your skill set to the point that you will use every club in your bag. The elevation changes are subtle and at times will be challenging. Very well manicured from the tee boxes, fairways, and greens. A bang for your buck.
Nice to have the elevation changes being in the hills
Played Las Colinas on Monday afternoon before Thanksgiving. Course was quiet. We got around in just over 3 hours which was great pace.
Greens were slower than we were used to playing and had to hit some putts hard to get to the hole. Course in decent condition. One hole was cart path only and walking out to ball it was obviously soggy and not able to handle cart until it dries up. Most fairways are generously wide. Had to shape some shots around mature trees.
Disappointed
Went on a weekend w the boys.... While the course had great potential, it was just not in great shape. Especially the very bumpy greens. It was very crowed and staff seemed overwhelmed. Could not get help with our group of 8 to get carts. Even though there were 6 or 7 attendants standing around talking. Rushed to get to our tee time that was then delayed 30 minutes. Seemed like a huge inconvenience for the attendant to get us a bucket of range balls that we paid an extra $20. Kind of got the three days of golf off to a bad start. Oh you may want to walk the course as it would be much faster than taking their carts... On the up side, the Mission Inn hotel was wonderful and very clean and they arranged our group all next to each other which made it easy to get together for drinks and dinner. Food was excellent at all three hotel restaurants. Just thought Mission Inn GC would be so much better!
Mission Inn Golf
Both Las Colinas & El Campeon at Mission Inn are Excellent Golf Courses. Always enjoy playing either course with my friends who are visiting from out of town. 1st Class in every way from their very friendly & professional staff to the always superb maintenance & course conditions at a very affordable price.
A MUST PLAY WHILE VISITING THE ORLANDO AREA!
Really Liked The Course BUT The Staff and The Pace Of Play Really Ruined It For Me.
I have always wanted to play at Mission Inn Resort and I jumped at the chance to try it out. Check-in was okay. The pro shop staff seemed to be on auto-pilot and not really welcoming or outgoing. We hit some balls and then headed for the 1st tee. There was no starter and right from the start, we could see that it looked a little "bunched up". Little did we know that the game was going to go from a little slow to totally unacceptable. The bottom line is this. My 18 hole round was close to 5 1/2 hours. On a par 5 on the back, there were 6 groups; one on the green, one in the middle, one teeing off, and three groups waiting. It is NO fun to hit the ball and wait 10+ minutes to hit it again. People were hitting into the groups in front of them from frustration. What really upset me was the attitude of the staff. They shrugged it off and stated there was nothing they could do. One even walked away from me. All the staff had to do was send someone out to apologize and maybe offer a small token: a golf ball...a discount off another round...even just a sincere apology. UGH! I wouldn't waste my time returning.
We apologize for your negative experience. We strive for a 4 1/2 pace, however this is not always achievable with some more social golf outings. We hope you return.
Perhaps nicest course I have ever played
Very well maintained course partly thru beautiful Florida nature. Partly what narrow fairways and surprising water. We were alone on the course this afternoon. Not riding on fairways because of seeding was no problem.
TERRIBLE PACE OF PLAY
Playing at 12:17 in November one would have hoped for a reasonable time to play a round, but 5 hours 10 mins is ridiculous. There was a group of 5 a few groups ahead and a 4 some behind them, neither were very good and none of them played ‘ready golf’ as far as we could see. The group in front phoned the club house to get a ranger out but that had absolutely no effect with him just saying I’ve never seen a hold up this bad. That’s because they should never of started a 5 off like that and should have monitored the pace. The starter was probably one of the grumpiest I’ve ever seen and even the guy in the pro shop who we paid of fees to, looked as though he hated being there. What happened to a simple smile and ‘have a good round’? They really need to review their customer service. The course itself is one of my favourites but that’s once you get past the bad attitude that pre-empts that.
Sorry you had a bad experience. We do have a strict NO fivesomes policy. We will address these customer service issues with staff.
simply the best
.........perhaps one of the finest golf experiences in the area......simply the best
Great course
If u haven't played this course, u really don't like golf. This is a fantastic course. Great layout, great condition. Play the tees correct tees not the macho tees.
Very sorry for the poor guest service this day. This is not indicative of our standards. We hope you return to play again.
