Las Colinas is one of two championship golf courses at Mission Inn Resort. It is less challenging than the other course, El Campeon, but both provide enjoyable and unique rounds. Las Colinas sprawls across gently rolling hills with elevation changes that are less startling than those found throughout the older El Campeon course. Twisted oak hammocks and a sprinkling of lush pines accent Las Colinas. The golf course has an inland links layout that boasts wide-open, forgiving fairways and large, receptive greens. There is an interesting variety of risk/reward opportunities as well as a few forced carries. The course has many player-friendly features but its classic architecture does call for a fair amount of accuracy, especially on its signature hole, the par-5 12th. Nicknamed "Alligator Alley," this 493-yard hole features a winding, tree-lined fairway.

The course has very nice greens

Beautiful course with very nice greens. Pace of play was very slow . Little over 5 hours to golf 18 holes . One of the nicer courses around clermont .

The Course was Awesome... the Starter, not so much

The course was in great shape. We had lunch first and the food was good, plentiful and reasonably priced. We went the range. The only issue with the range is that the grass on the range is not the same grass on the course. So hitting from fluffy Bermuda on the range wasn’t like hitting off the tight lies in the fairway on the course.

The issue with the starter was that we went as a twosome. He had another twosome penciled in to join us. Then he pulled that twosome and put them with a twosome behind us and sent us out as a twosome. We were following several foursomes, thus as a twosome in the middle of all the foursomes, we waited... a lot. Play was slow due to the course being crowded, but to compound the slowness by putting us off as a twosome, just made it worse. I even asked if he could have another twosome join us to help with the spacing and timing. He ignored me and said, you’re up... now... go hit. I mentioned it to the Marshall when he came around and he acknowledged there were probably too many twosomes on the course and they shoulda have been paired up.

Bad experience

Our group has played Mission Inn several times over the past couple of years. Great golf courses and staff. However, it’s always been a 4-4 1/2 round. The pace of play is 4 1/2 hours. That’s ridiculous!! What’s worse is that it isn’t enforced. Our round today was 5 hours, and we saw the ranger once On the third hole. The group in front of us had two open holes in front of them. When we checked in they didn’t have any carts for us!! Really? We were told that management over booked the course and therefore we had to wait for a group to finish for us to get a cart. Then they hosed the carts off and we had to use our towels to wipe off our seats. This is totally UNACCEPTABLE!

What happened to Mission Inn, it has seriously slipped. We won’t be back for a while, between the below average conditions and the slow play it just isn’t worth it. Restaurant and lounge was excellent!!

Please clean up your act. Thank you.

Very playable course for all levels of expertise. Course was in good condition ( except several fairways with some bare spots). Good value for the money.

Los Colinas Is Great Value

Los Colinas is in great condition for the winter season. At a seniors green fee rate, it is great value for the money. Situated in a very relaxed resort setting.

Good southern course

This is the lesser of the two courses at this great resort. It’s a very solid course that reminded me of other southern courses, but didn’t scream Florida golf. The are enough holes to keep you intrigued and interested, but not enough to make this an equal partner to the better course at the resort. Don’t get me wrong it is worth $40-50 to play, and if I was in the area I would play it again. But I wouldn’t make a special trip to do so.

More Then Disappointing

Saying this course was a huge disappointment is an understatment. I have played the El Campeon and loved the course so I was looking forward to playing Las Colinas. What a huge mistake, you would think that this would be comparable but it was not even close. There was nothing appealing about Las Colinas at all. This was no more than a $30 dollar course at best. If I had to say what the worse part was I could choose the hard dirt bunkers, the slow slow greens, the rock hard fairways, the thin dry dirt rough, the one fairway that looked spray painted green, the cracked cart path, I could go on... There was nothing aesthetically pleasing about this course. I can't express enough how disappointing this course was. I will say that the staff was extremely friendly. The group behind us and in front of us were both awesome, we got to talk to them both. I say don't waist your time or money on Las Colinas.
