Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course

We wanted to see some different Florida country. It was our first outing since Covid began.& it was so much fun. Absolutely beautiful course & flowers! Many eagle nests and eagles sitting in them chirping away . It was just the coolest day.!

Exceptional layout, well maintained with a lot of scenic and challenging holes. Greens were really fast and true. Staff was excellent. My golfnow reservation wasn't in their system but they took care of it in a courteous and professional manner.

Course is in very good condition. Greens were fast. If you never played or haven't played in a while please do.

First time playing here. Wonderful layout with elevation changes. Excellent conditions.

Played Challenger tees. Good name for them for a 75 year-old with a 16 index. Little slow...a twosome behind a foursome. Still finished just under four hours. Played with a great fellow (Dave) who advised me well around the course.

Got a "hot deal," so the value was great. Only visiting the area for a short time, but hope to get back before I leave.

This course is a wonderful golf course. The conditions were very nice and there were no major glaring issues. I really enjoyed the change of elevation that is uncommon to Florida and found it interesting that there were holes where you were basically hitting into the side of a steep hill. The course plays very difficult so make sure to pick the correct tees.

Nice to play a course that doesn’t depend on gimmick holes. Good shots are rewarded and indecision challenges your scramble game! Love how this course takes your driver out of your hands. Position is more important than distance on a few holes. Play had to stop on one hole as an alligator had to cross the fairway! And yes the tree!

Overall the course was in good shape. Greens were a little rough in places but better than the last time I played here. The pace of play was fantastic for me as I finished in 3 hours.

Overall great day of golf minus the golfer! 100% likely to return soon!!

I have played El Campion multiple times and it is always a great day of golf. The tee to green elevation changes require a lot of thought regarding club selection. The greens have lots of slope and are firm. It rained for about 40 minutes and the greens drained well and were still firm despite the downpour. This course rewards good shots and punishes poor ones with lots of water, rough and trees. But you can score well if you are a skilled player. Average players will enjoy the layout as it offers a variety of long and short par 4s and 5s that provides opportunities to make par or birdie. Now is a great time to play as they are preparing the course for a US Open qualifier and a women’s professional tournament in May. If you have not played El Campion you have missed out on one of the top layouts in Florida.

Great layout. Had a great day on the course. It played exceptionally difficult because the greens were impossibly/ridiculously slow based on what I can only assume is over seeding in preparation for the coming PGA event. Otherwise, was great.

Been playing this course for years on golf trips and never disappointed. Course is in great shape and rates are good for the condition compared to Orlando courses.

Im 66 years old. I played the white tees except hole 7 & hole 17 where I moved up to gold. Course was very fun to play & very challenging. I hope to go back next year.

This course is always a pleasure to play, the course is in excellent condition. Make sure th bring your camera, every hole is breathtaking!!!!!
