The highly popular El Campeon Course at Mission Inn Resort consistently ranks in the top 10 of Florida's many golf courses. The course originally opened in 1917 and decades later in 1992, it was joined by a second 18-hole course, Las Colinas. El Campeon is not only one of the state's oldest golf courses but also one of its most challenging. The traditional design remains largely unchanged except for a renovation in 1926. The course winds through towering forests and numerous spring-fed lakes. The layout features water on thirteen holes as well as dramatic elevation changes that measure over 85 feet across the rolling fairways and undulating greens. The signature hole of the golf course is the par-5 17th. This lengthy double dogleg possesses more hazards than some entire courses do.

The course was in wet but very good and playable shape after a couple of rain deluges in the days and night before playing . There were only 2 cart path holes.

This course has gone downhill!

I have been playing this course for over 10 years and haven’t seen it in this poor of condition. You expect tight lies but not dirt/mud lies. This is more prominent around the greens. The tee boxes are green bare, maybe they don’t oversees them. Pace of play is not the best. A ranger that did something would be helpful.

Great layout

Great layout with many very interesting and challenging holes. Any one of them would have been signature holes on most Florida courses.

Difficult but fair; stay below the holes and you can make some.

Very Challenging

This course is not for the faint of heart. It is very challenging. It is the most beautiful course in central Florida. My group all loved it. We definitely would like to have shot lower scores but all things considered we all enjoyed the day. The restaurant had an amazing quesadilla, delicious! This course is worth the extra price, it is in excellent condition.
