About

Type Resort

Length 7015 yards

Rating 73.8

The highly popular El Campeon Course at Mission Inn Resort consistently ranks in the top 10 of Florida's many golf courses. The course originally opened in 1917 and decades later in 1992, it was joined by a second 18-hole course, Las Colinas. El Campeon is not only one of the state's oldest golf courses but also one of its most challenging. The traditional design remains largely unchanged except for a renovation in 1926. The course winds through towering forests and numerous spring-fed lakes. The layout features water on thirteen holes as well as dramatic elevation changes that measure over 85 feet across the rolling fairways and undulating greens. The signature hole of the golf course is the par-5 17th. This lengthy double dogleg possesses more hazards than some entire courses do.

Outstanding

As always wonderful day of golf at a great course, play it few times before and all been great , this time the pace was awful slow due to a four some in front, playing extra balls and who knows their discussion, no one in front for several holes we can see, won’t allow us to pass. Took us extra 45+ minutes to finish. Not the facilities fault. Come and play you will love this course

Great course but no pandemic restrictions

Great staff and great course but would appreciate it being mandatory for staff and guests to wear masks in the proshop and all indoor facilities.

Awesome Course

The only issue for me is that the Members have faster carts than the guests and I didn’t like the fact that they were always in our tails, felt a bit rushed though as it doesn’t appears that their carts are “governed”.

Other than that was a great day of golfing and will definitely be back again......

Legendary Central Florida Course

Beautiful facility with a great blend of challenging holes & birdie holes. Playing on Father’s Day meant the pace of play was quite slow. Would absolutely play this course again!

Always a fantastic course!

Played El Campeon on Friday June 19th with 7 buddies as the start of a Fathers Day weekend getaway. El Campeon was challenging as always and as per usual was in fantastic shape. We then played 18 on El Dorado which is set up with Executive tees on Las Colinas. Had a great time doing that and we got a preview of Las Colinas in the process. , we played 18 on the regular tees on Saturday the 20th. Course was in excellent shape! Other than 14 being under repair so it was playing as a par 3 instead of 4. As hot as it was we still had a great time! I highly recommend spending a golf weekend at Mission Inn whenever you can!

Slow greens and brutal pace of play

Had to wait 5-10 minutes on every shot. The round took 5:30 hours. Greens looked like they hadn’t been cut or rolled in weeks. Had to crush every putt to get It to the hole.

Unique and challenging course

El Campeon is not only the most historic course in central Florida, but it’s also one of the toughest. The course is very unique given the elevation change, water, and mature trees. You can’t find anything quite like this one

Painfully slow greens

The course overall was in perfect shape. Huge complaint on the speed of the greens. They were absolutely awful to putt on . It was equivalent to putting off fairway. 8 foot putts were nearly impossible to get to the hole. Hopefully once rains slow then they will cut and roll them tight again.

Great course for great price

My first time playing. The starter and club house personnel we very friendly. The course layout and rate of play was great and smooth. We thoroughly enjoyed our round and would come back. The only downfall was there were no concerns about Covid-19. No mask no distancing. In respect for those who run the course, I wore my mask. I’ll be happy to come back, respectfully to those who run the course and for fellow golfers.
