Nice Course
Great customer service - staff is outstanding. Course is in good shape. Only issue is no coolers on the golf carts...... it is hot out here in the summer!!!
Final 50 yards
Other than the greens, the course was in rough shape. Fairways were all eaten up, tee boxes were complete mush. Greens were PERFECT! No cart person whatsoever to offer food or beverage. All in all was a good day. Can't complain too much for a midday weekend tee time for $19
Great local course
we play here a few times a month, staff is very friendly and the course is good condition. Great local course and very local friendly.
try it again
the course was under repair, but it was a fun course
Why has it fallen apart ?
I was beyond disgusted, this used to be a nice muni course. They closed my favorite 9, and the 2 remaining 9's are in awful shape. The tee boxes are uncut and untrimmed, and the greens were as long as the fairways. We wont' be back until major changes are made.
Classic Golf Facility
Enjoyed playing at Black Mountain Golf Club. This track is a blend of two of the original nines shaped into a unique Las Vegas golf experience. I particularly enjoyed the Founders nine as it was challenging but forgiving. The Horizon nine is tricky for first time players as "hidden" water hazards sneak up on you and your score will reflect these challenges. The fairways were flush, the greens were well maintained and challenging, as they should be! An overall enjoyable experience with the exception of pace of play, some work is needed by management to fix slow play issues.
Nice place
Had a great time nice course , can't wait to play again when it's so hot .
Great course views
The course maps a bit confusing for newcomers.
Staff very accomodating.
Great course
Great course no complaints here would play again if I come back to Vegas
Well establish and mature course
We always include this course on our Vegas golfing vacation because we know the holes and the greens here. This year we noticed that the fairways needed some attention as far as water and grooming are concerned. It was still loads of fun, even though the temp was almost 100 degrees!
Just golf
All you get here is a round of golf. Grass was decent. Greens were okay. Staff was basically non-existent. I got my receipt and the cashier handed it to me with no words..... I left looking around for a starter or sign of where to go.... Nothing. Drove the cart around for a five minutes before asking someone where to go for the first tee. Upon arriving there was no starter, not a big deal but I wanted to confirm this was where I was supposed to be. Also no drink cart..... Overall the course was decent; fun and not too challenging. But I would not go back and would not recommend this course for anything more than 20 bux a round.
Oh yeah one more thing; there are no maps in carts or on score cards so as a first timer I was disappointed with the lack of information on hazards. Lost two balls into a water hazard I didn't even see or know it was there. Simple map would of been nice! Come on!
Dry Desert Course
Although this course during the hot lazy days of mid June was dry and hot, the fairways were wide and in good shape. Greens were a mixture of both slow and fast giving the player a good putting challenge.
great price and fun time
Course was in good shape. Not a bad drive from the strip. Good value.
You get what you pay for
Considering we only paid 35 per person on a holiday weekend... I really can't complain. You can tell it's very dated. The clubhouse and some of the facilities looked liked a blast from the past and could honestly use some renovations. However the greens and fairways were in fantastic shape. Course was very simple and almost felt repetitive. Staff was extremely accommodating from the starter to the cart girl who we saw at least 4 times. Pace of play was very reasonable considering it was MDW 4.5 hours w/ a 3some. I'd come back just wouldn't pay more than the 35.
This course used to be good
At least the price was right $19. Everything down hill after that. Pro shop guy ignores me while he's talking to his buddy who had no time but sends him and two others out in front of us. Never did see a beverage cart out on course which I understand if it's slow, but then the pro shop should alert you before you head out. Also saw the cart attendant playing while he was on the clock , not very professional. This used to be a good course with some class to it. It was very discouraging seeing people in t-shirts and and tank tops at a so called country club.
This course was in great shape
The fairways and the greens were well taken care of. The course has an open feel to it but actually plays narrow due to the mature landscaping. The greens can be deceiving, they do not break nearly as much as you would think.
Black Mountain
The course could use a little TLC, and I mean just a little and it could be a great value. The desert areas could use some rock or sand and or weather resistant plants. The greens, fairways and roughs I thought were excellent. Of course a GPS would be an added bonus
Challenging greens
The course is in good shape right now. Under new management. Fairways are fairly wide and not too hard to navigate.
Greens are in good shape and tricky with slight undulations resulting in very few "straight in " puts.
Challenging Greens
Good Course to play if your local. I wont go back just because there are too many other courses that I like better for the same value. It is nice to play for something different . The putting greens were very challenging and lots of bunkers.
