Border line golf
Played on Thanksgiving, staff was actully very nice with working on the Holiday.....course was a little ruff and shows signs of the time, not much overseeding was done it seems. Was a good pace up till the 6th hole when we ran into a group of 6 (six) guys playing togeather behind a group of 5....we were a Two some and after watching them all tee off on 4 holes and putt on greens like they were pros or something, each taking thier time we went back and played front nine over....these guys turned out to be locals as cart man told us and they think they own the course...Had it not been a Holiday and staff so friendly I would have insisted they do something about the 11 guys out there without any care how slow they were making the rounds for the people behind them.....
Black Mountain
Great Staff paired with nice people, but he fairways are not in good shape and the greens are just average
Friendly Golf
I am a Scotsman vacationing in Vegas and I was paired with 3 local golfers who made this a very enjoyable game, thanks Jim Bill and Paul, whilst the fairways were a little bare in patches the greens were some of the best I've played this year and I've played Gleneagles and St Andrews this year. I would recommend Black Mountain to anyone looking to play golf in Vegas area.
Just ok
Overall it was a good experience for the $20 price. Would have been disappointed at $50. Pace seemed slow since we waited on every hole, but in the end it was under 4 hours. Course showed some wear a and tear but was very playable. Greens were quick and rolled true, but lots of unfixed ball marks. Sign said fix yours and two more. Thanks to having time to kill on each hole, we fixed many more than two.
If you get a deal, go play it.
Nice golf course
We had a great time no one was behind us or in front of us. It was like we had the golf course to our self.
good time
I had a great time plauing with two other people and the course was in great condition. the pin placements and the holes where a little beat up and other people did not repair thier ball marks on the green but over allthey were in good.
Overall pleasant experience
Course was in good condition, staff was friendly, and price per round was super affordable.
Once upon a time maybe
Very disappointed in course condition. Staff seemed disinterested -- no welcome, course info before round. Just seemed to be a tired, little rundown golf course.
Great this time of year
As most course are over seeding at this time of year, the course is scheduled to do so in October, so it was nice to be able to take the cart on the course.
Greens were the best we played during our stay in Vegas.
easy access, nice staff, poor range too many rocks, damages clubs
the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The course was in excellent shape for the time of year. the biggest problem we incurred is not seeing the cart girl enough, it was very hot and not much water on course
Walked off after 9 holes
Staff admitted that they had overbooked tee times. That resulted in a shortage of carts, carts that ran out of battery juice (probably due to insufficient time re-charging), delayed start time, slow play, etc. I showed up as a single, was teamed up with two other players. The other two left after 6 holes. I survived 9 holes, realized that the pace of play was not going to improve (5 to 10 minutes wait on every hole), was not going to be able to finish due to onset of darkness (I admit that my booking was tight, leaving barely more than 4 hours to finish). All in all, the 9-hole round was not any fun, even though my companions were great.
Look elsewhere
Not a total loss. Did not inform us that 9 of the 27 holes were closed. No way to tell pin locations.
fantastic experience
Great Golfnow experience. The staff and facilities were wonderful
I would not recommend !!!!
Almost 3 hours to play nine holes, come on really, I normally don't say anything about the pace of play but that was ridiculous.
Got it for the right price
Greens needed help... very tight course... been nice the additional 9 holes were still around.
Very good value
Easily accessible, good deals can be had. Courses are green now, from recent rain. Desert course is closed down. Liked play speed and open fairways.
Slow play
Course was in great shape for the season. It was hard to play at a good pace when there were three groups of five in front going really slow. Long day. If it was faster it would have been a better day
Good course if you can hit the fairways
This is a dessert course, so if you stray off the fairway you end up in the rocks
That said it is a really well maintained course
You play 2 of the 3 9 hole courses to make up your 18
The Founders course started off amongst the houses but opened up to undeveloped country
There was plenty of water stations on the course and the course & green conditions were excellent
A few bunkers to contend with but not too difficult a course if you can stay on the grass
Good course for the price
All the greens are in very good shape, especially for the low cost. currently a lot of dry spots on fairways. the landing area on horizon 9 is non-existent. overall the course is in good shape and i cant complain when only paying $20.
