TPC Las Vegas

About
TPC Las Vegas (formerly known as The Tournament Players Club at The Canyons) is Vegas' premier PGA Tour facility, making it a popular destination for professional players and casual golfers alike. The golf course enjoys a scenic backdrop provided by Red Rock Canyon, with views stretching past the surrounding mountains to the Las Vegas skyline. Lush greens contrast the rugged desert landscape of arroyos and barrancas. This challenging layout will test the shot-making skills of even the most seasoned players. The deceptively sloped greens can be difficult but the fairways are somewhat wide and give a little room for error. The back nine presents a particularly formidable test. It is difficult to pick out a signature hole, but the par-4 13th, nicknamed "Death Valley" is memorable for being one of the best risk-reward opportunities on the golf course.

TPC Vegas
Being over 100 degrees the course was in great shape. Greens at a 10 vs 13 or 14 usually but still rolled well. Views and shots over ravines were amazing
Great Track
Great Track, just came out of over seeding so it was very very wet….but course was in amazing shape..
Fair course for all levels if you play the correct tee boxes.
Definitely play once u will not forgot it. The wild coyotes running around are neat to sed

Better courses at this price point
Paid $135 in the summer to go out mid-morning. Showed up to our tee time 30 minutes before and the starter said "You're up next". We wanted to warm up first and use the grass driving range. Felt rushed out of the gate.
Got to hole 4 and was approached by the Marshal for being a "few minutes" behind pace. But we weren't - because the carts have GPS software with built in pace of play, as evident by other reviews who posted the image of this software from last week. Weird reading about how the Marshal did it to them on the same hole. We asked how far behind we were since the cart made no mention of it (other reviews showed warnings for being behind pace) and he said less than 10. Our round ended up being 4 hours and 10 minutes as a foursome. We were not being pushed by groups behind us.
Carts had GPS but at a top ~10% price point I would have expected green slopes. Course did not include bottles of water either, only one cooler per cart. Cart shut off was extremely annoying as the GPS software did not outline the out of bounds areas like other courses. Signs for carts to head to the cart path were 100+ yards out with several holes cart path only and long walks to balls. I get wanting to protect your course but this was excessive.
Greens were soft - a pleasant surprise. Green speed was tricky all day, a bit on the slow side. Fairways were what you would expect mid-June in Vegas - dry and ready for overseeding in a few months. Tee boxes were flat without many divots. Range was in good condition. Rough was cut short but would stop balls - easy to hit out of.
The course requires accuracy. If you miss fairways you will be out of bounds on many holes. The greens had some difficult pin placements where you needed to carry over bunkers to tucked away pins. Heavy slopes off greens with false fronts on many holes.
Drink carts showed up every hour and there was a snack shack at the turn. Not much shade around the tee boxes.
Horrible Experience at TPC las Vegas
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent golf experience at your course on June 11. 2024. I was playing with a group of 4 friends, 2 of whom are single-digit handicappers and the other 2 have handicaps around 12.
Upon check-in at the pro shop in the morning, we were pleasantly greeted by two friendly staff members. We were also informed that the 17th hole was under construction and that we would be skipping that hole and replaying the 1st hole for free. We teed off at 9:11 AM.
On the 4th hole, the marshal approached us and said we were 10 minutes behind and that we needed to speed up to match the pace of the group ahead of us, which was only a single player. We were confused as to how we were expected to keep up with a single player when we were a group of four. The group behind us also consisted of only two players, and all subsequent groups we encountered were also two-some.
On the 7th hole, the marshal approached us again and once again told us we were 10 minutes behind and needed to speed up. We informed him that we were playing at a reasonable pace, but he continued to insist that we needed to play faster and refused to listen to our concerns. We eventually asked the two-some behind us if they would like to play through, and they politely declined, stating that they were comfortable with our pace.
The weather was extremely hot that day, reaching 106 degrees Fahrenheit. To make matters worse, the water misting fans on the 15th hole were not working. This was particularly frustrating as we have played at TPC Las Vegas several times before (approximately 5 times) and have never experienced such issues.
Overall, our experience at TPC Las Vegas was extremely disappointing and far below the standards we have come to expect from your establishment. We felt that we were being treated unfairly and discriminated against due to our group size and ethnicity (Asian American).
Furthermore, it is nonsensical to expect a group of four players to maintain the same pace as a single or two-some. If you are going to enforce strict pace-of-play rules, it would be more logical to limit tee times to two players per group.
In conclusion, we urge you to reconsider your policies and procedures to ensure that all guests have a fair and enjoyable experience at your course. We would appreciate a response to this review and an explanation of how you plan to address the issues we have raised.

The course was in great shape, greens were ok, people don’t repair ball marks.
Sand was compacted, otherwise great.
Great TPC course!
I really enjoyed this TPC course, the tee boxes, fairways, rough, bunker & greens were in great condition. Very challenging course from the blues and the greens were fast. The staff from the bag drop to the pro shop and the cart girls were fantastic. Will definitely be back to play and and try and improve my score!
Pace
Pace of play ruined an otherwise great course. The Marshall tried and was friendly but for Pete’s sake make the slow group pick up on a hole !?!? Took 5 1/2 hours!!!!
