Looking back towards Vegas Photo submitted by Akpsy1 on 10/10/2012
Poor maintenance on the greens
Good layouts but maintenance is not very good.
Fairways are somewhat dried. Grass looks very lean.
Badlands
Great course challenging but fair. Greens hard to read
Badlands Are You Ready
Definitely target golf. Must know what and where to hit your shots. If you're off the fairway a lot of times you are in deep trouble. The greens were very fast. Enjoyed the course but need to play more than once to get to know where you can and can't hit your ball.
tough course in tough shape
This is target golf and if you're off target you're toast. Tee boxes are in really bad shape- fairways are like bricks. Several forced carries and if you're short you need a new ball. Greens were in rough shape and several had hunks of grass missing. Sand traps are compact and it's like hitting out of concrete
Badlands for $50!
Best deal we ever got in Las Vegas; thanks GolfNow!
tight fairways. and forced carries on desperado
greens were in rough shape, and slow. bunkers in good shape. for a warm day we only saw the beer\snack cart once on the 16th hole.
Badlands is the Best!
Everything about Badlands gets an A+. By far, my favorite course in Vegas
Great value
Great value . Course conditions good. Greens tough to read
this course has many ravines and desert
it's my favorite course. Very challenging course. The homes and the landscaping are magnificent.
Good day
Enjoyed the experience. Always a great course to play.
target golf
This is 18 holes of target golf cut right out of the desert. Great golf course for someone that hits it straight. Distance is not needed. Not alot of room for error. Usually rocks and desert on both sides of the fairways. Very little rough. Great vista's. Overall the experience was good and very different to the golf coures I play in Texas
BANG FOR THE BUCK @ $60
TOUGH FIRST TIME NOT KNOWING WHERE TO LAND SOME SHOTS.
Challenging but well worth it
As basically a bogey golfer, I found this golf course to be quite challenging but by far my favorite of the 3 courses I played as a visitor to Las Vegas. The scenery is spectacular and the course was in very good condition. Overal one has to be able to hit pretty straight shots and not be too aggressive in your distances. I lost a couple balls but it was well worth the playing experience. I will play there again when I return to Las Vegas and would recommend it to others as well.
Nice
Pretty nice course. Front nine can be challenging with ball running off the fairways into desert, but back nine opens up a little. Overall it was a great place to play I thought.
Overrated Course
Badlands is a very average course that is typical of any Johnny Miller type tract. Narrow fairways, too many waste areas, blind tee shots and poorly designed greens. Course not in great shape. Many brwn or bare spots on fairways. I typically lose 1 ball per 2 rounds. I lost 8 ball at Badlands. This course Severely penalizes even the slightest off center shots. Simply put, Badlands is no fun to play, so there is no reason to play it because Southern Nevada and Utah are full of great courses to choose from. Skip this one for your next outing!
I could CRAWL at a faster pace
Even though we saw a marshall numerous times, it took almost 3 hours to play the front nine. Over 5hrs is totally unacceptable. Stacked up on multiple tees is no fun. Fairways are only fair. Hundreds of ball marks on greens. Fixed average of 6 new marks apiece on every green for each member of my 3some. Too difficult for most players, always looking for balls. DON"T PLAY HERE!
A Reason This Course is Value Priced
Our overall impression of this course was poor for the following reasons:
Course and Equipment Condition was Poor... tee boxes and fairways were rough and the GPS on our cart was not working.
Starter was Grumpy...they need someone in this position who is friendly and accommodating. He acted as if he was doing us a favor and it was his way or we could play elsewhere.
Course Layout and tee boxes are illogical... example, on number 9 of Desperado my wife had to tee off with a wedge and her second shot was a rescue club to reach the green. I understand target golf but this course layout and design does not make sense.
There is a reason this course offers such low rates on Golfnow. You get what you pay for.
Good Price Performer
Desperado more difficult than Outlaw nine. Target golf at its best on Desperado. Enjoyed the round as the pace of play was excellent.
A great day too play
I've played the Badlands several times since moving to Las Vegas, but tis day was my first outing on the Desperado nine. This was a fun track. Took driver out of the bag after the second hole. Fun lay out and a good challenge. Much different than outlaw or diablo. Great day, great track I will be back.
